Environmental Assessment • All Solstice® molecules and their intermediates have been subject to LCAs
by independent third parties - Low embedded energy - Water usage - Effluents
• Atmospheric Chemistry assessed by Prof Nielsen (U. of Copenhagen) and others including members of the UNEP Scientific Assessment Panel.
- GWP = 1 or less - No POCP impact
• Assessed by US EPA (SNAP) and EU (REACH) - SNAP approved - No Use Restrictions under EU REACH
• Fits Resource Efficiency Model - High value promotes recovery, reclamation and re-use
• Energy Efficiency drives Refrigerant Selection - HFO blends designed to address specific thermodynamic ranges
HFOs Are An Excellent Solution

Conclusion • HFOs are a near drop-in, environmentally preferable alternative to
HFCs that meet / exceed global environmental imperatives. - Global Warming Potential: Pure HFOs have GWPs that are 99.9% lower than
the products they replace. - Efficiency: HFOs provide greater efficiency versus other ultra-low GWP
refrigerants. - Availability: The versatility and availability of HFOs can help speed up the
implementation of lower GWP systems, particularly in developing countries at the start of their phase-out.
- Ease of Implementation: For customers looking for simple, cost-effective solutions that do not require expensive new systems, HFOs offer a near drop-in solution.
• There is no single solution for every refrigeration application, but every application can have a smart solution for both the environment and the user. - HFOs deliver cooling performance and energy efficiency while driving down
GWP, and are an essential component of the future of refrigerants.
