Over the past three years, singer-songwriters Jackie Rankin, Scott Horton and Joe Petri have been developing a sound and songwriting style all their own. Driving percussive acoustic guitar mixed with soft electric guitar sounds set to tales of personal and global renewal characterize the music of their alternative-folk rock trio, Honest Penny.Honest Penny was formed in 2010 when Joe returned to his hometown of Buffalo, NY, after several years of gigging with a folk rock trio in the NYC area. Drawn together by a love of folk, rock, and modern music, Joe and Jackie immediately began writing and crafting a signature sound at area open mic nights. The duo was joined in 2014 by guitarist Scott Horton and the trio quickly graduated to regular gigs in the Western New York area including the 2017 Music is Art Festival at Riverworks.
