Over the past three years, singer-songwriters Jackie Rankin, Scott Horton and Joe Petri have been developing a sound and songwriting style all their own. Driving percussive acoustic guitar sounds set to tales of personal and global renewal characterize the music of their alternative-folk rock duo, Honest Penny.Honest Penny was formed in 2010 when Joe returned to his hometown of Buffalo, NY, after several years of gigging with a folk rock trio in the NYC area. Drawn together by a love of folk and rock music from artists such as Brandi Carlile, Norah Jones and Patty Griffin, Joe and Jackie immediately began writing and crafting a signature sound at area open mic nights. The duo quickly graduated to regular gigs in the Western New York area including live performances at the Buffalo International Film Festival, the Clarence Center Coffee Company, Parings Wine Bar, Wine On Third, Westside Stories and the Taste of Diversity Festival.
