Homogeneous

A mixture where all parts are evenly distributed

A uniform mixture

Soda is an example because you can not see any individual components of the drink, they are uniformly spread

Heterogenous

Opposite of a homogeneous mixture

Components of a mixture are not spread evenly, they are visible throughout

Trail mix is an example because you can see the separate nuts, raisons, seeds, etc.

Concentrations

Definition- the amount of how much of a substance is mixed with another

Must know the solvent (dissolves other substances) and the solute (is dissolved by the solvent)

A mixture with a larger amount of solute has a higher concentration
