Homework 1A (bonus)
The first task is to install and make the CSiBridge program working for future work. To test it works or
not, a bonus is awarded to each individual who is modeling this simple bridge and turns the result in
before the end of February.
Model Criteria:
• Concrete deck on a Twin‐Steel Girder Bridge w/girder spacing = 1.5m (5ft) and edge distances = 0.75m
(2.5ft)
• Concrete Floor: Density 2400kg/m3 (150 lb/ft3), Modulus of Elasticity=2.4X1010 N/m2
(3480 ksi).
Width=3m (10ft), Depth=0.15m (0.5ft), Length=12m (40ft), Poison Ratio=0.2.
• Steel Girders: W 21X44 (W530x66), Modulus of Elasticity 200X109 N/m2(29,000 ksi), Poison Ratio=0.3,
Density=7850 kg/m3(490 lb/ft3).
Problem Statement:
Find the fundamental frequency and verified with the result based on the attached frequency calculator.
