Success for the

The Algoa FM Port Elizabeth HOMEMAKERS Expo, held at the Boardwalk Exhibition Centre from 23 to 26 July was once again a great success. Even though the weather kept us all in our rain boots, the show still saw masses of visitors through the door enjoying the excessive variety of home improvement products on offer.

Overall the show was very well received by the public as well as the exhibitors. From walking through our entrance, beautifully designed by the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) students, visitors could walk along a great selection of décor de-signs, interiors, slick bathroom and kitchen options that further led you to gourmet food treats and if you were lucky in seeing Gino Fabbri in the AV Designers Gourmet Lounge, you would have defi nitely enjoyed a proper laugh as well.

The traditional Dream Home Competition proved to be ever popular this year with the total value of the prizes exceeding R300 000. Congratulations to Colleen Blignaut, winner of not only an Easylife Kitchen to the value of R180 000 but also winner of furniture items to the value of R35 000 manufac-tured and upholstered during the Master Upholsterers’ chal-lenge courtesy of H&T Furniture by Design and Bargain Ware-house, a solar geyser by Powerz-On Solar Solutions valued at R25 000, sanitaryware from E.P.S. Plumbing Supplies to the value of R23 000 and Build It sponsored R18 000 worth of Spar Vouchers. Plantation Shutters sponsored R15 000 worth of product, Mohair blankets to the value of R12 000, R11 000 worth of products from Webster’s Flooring, ADT security solutions to the value of R10 000, lights from Ambiente Luce to the value of R10 000 and lastly Park Lane Décor products and services to the value of R10 000.

Winners

Hendrik Nell walked away with the 2015 Master Upholsterers’ Challenge title.

Donovan McLagan, was crowned winner of the East Cape Regional Barista Championships and will

now go through to the Nationals held in November.
