Thank you for purchasing the HTS-1200B Home Theater Speaker System. This system provides stunning clarity and imaging, and delivers superior sound for even the most exacting audio or home theater applications. It consists of four shielded speakers for the front and rear, and one shielded center channel. Just add a subwoofer and your home theater system is complete. The satellites are made of a high impact ABS cabinet featuring mounting brackets and threaded inserts for use on walls or stands.

Speaker PlacementThe positioning of the speaker differs according to the size and acoustics of the listening room. While listening to different sources, try various speaker positions to determine which layout provides the best surround sound effect.

Front Speakers: Place the front speakers in front of the listening position, to the left and right of the TV. The speakers should be level or slightly higher than the height of the listeners’ ears.

Center Speaker: Place the center speaker between the front speakers; above or below the TV. This speaker reproduces most of the dialogue and improves imaging and depth of fi eld in the movie soundtrack.

Rear Speakers: Place these speakers to the left, right, and slightly behind the listening position. They should be positioned above the height of the listeners’ ears. Be careful not to place the speakers too far behind the listening position, as this will reduce their effectiveness. These speakers will reproduce most of the special effects and create a “surround sound” feel to the movie.

System Hook-UpAfter you’ve chosen the approximate speaker locations, run wire to each location starting with the rear speakers because they will be your longest runs. Cut and strip the ends of each wire run to expose the conductors and connect the speakers, making sure proper polarity is observed. Since this is for surround-sound use, it is important that each speaker is connected to the correct channel on the amplifi er. The left, right, and surround labels on the receiver assume that the installer is sitting in the main listening position facing the television.
