ABOUT US

This practice commenced in 1960. We are a GPA accredited practice. Our Practice undergoes 3 yearly voluntary extensive detailed accreditation to ensure we maintain our level of excellence.The demographics in the practice ranges from babies to 90 year olds with the majority being the elderly as they have been patients for over 50 years.

Allied Health are on-site and consist of Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Psychology, Mental Health Nurse, Diabetes Educator, Pathology and Pharmacy. There is a choice of several imaging facilities within close proximity.

The practice is fully computerised and uses Genie for all medical records and accounting. Pathology and Radiology are electronically downloaded into Genie and all correspondence is scanned.

TELEPHONE ENQUIRIES

Although the doctors understand that patients or their relatives desire to speak directly to them, this is not always possible especially during their clinic session. Please understand we cannot discuss patients with other people including close relatives without the patients consent. Our nurses are more than happy to assist you with your medical enquiry. If required the nurse will then communicate directly with the doctor to discuss your needs or put you through to the doctor.

If you do not want to speak to a nurse please leave your message with the receptionist and this will be attended to as soon as possible or at the end of the doctors session. Your telephone call be returned.

HOME VISITS:

If you require a home visit ring prior to 10am. We make home visits in the Reservoir, Preston and Kingsbury areas.

If you live outside these areas we may offer our Locum Service. If the visit relates to an emergency, please inform our receptionist. Please remember that home visits are consuming and often medical care can be better given at the surgery. It is not always possible to have your usual doctor for your home visits as we work on a roster system.

Prescriptions: will be issued during the consultation. In exceptional circumstances a prescription will be written without a consultation and a prescription charge of up to $10.00 will apply.

Referrals: will be issued during your consultation. Please discuss with your doctor. There will be a charge of up to $10.00 for a referral written at any other time.

RESULTS AND REMINDERS:

The practice has a system to ensure that clinically significant tests and results are followed up and the patient is contacted. A reminder system is used for PAP Smears, health assessments, care plans etc. The practice, with your consent participates in medical research in collaboration with hospitals and the GP college. If you do not want your details disclosed please inform the receptionist.

The practice participates in National and State registers such as PAP Smear and immunisation.

This practice actively participates on ongoing education and practice population data improvement. At times we use de-identified information for RACGP and government sanctioned research. Your permission will always be asked before we do this. You have the right to decline involvement in these research activities without adversely effecting your care.

Reservoir Medical Group have allied health services on the premises including: Pathology, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Mental Health Nurse and Diabetes educator. For more details or to make an appointment please speak to our receptionist.

This practice is involved in the education of GP registrars, medical and nursing students and you will be asked if you are happy for them to sit in on your consultation. You are more than welcome to decline and this will have no adverse effects on your treatment.

Tracy has more than 20 years of experience working in aged care. She has been working as a Practice Nurse in general practice for more than 7 years and her interests are in wound management and immunisation.

Our nurses are all involved in over 75 health assessments, care planning, wound care and immunisation. All of our nurses work closely with our patients and their GP to improve patient knowledge and assist them to improve and self manage their chronic medical conditions.

Kathy MillsQualifications:

Kathy has over 30 years experience working in health education, most recently as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator. Her interests are in assisting patients with Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational diabetes to manage their condition. She sees her patients on an individual basis in the clinic and their support partners are encouraged to attend. Kathy has a focus on discussing the importance of healthy eating and regular exercise in diabetes care.

Mental Health Nurse:Sandra Georgiadis RPN, Dip HS, Credentialed Mental Health NurseSandra works for North Western Mental Health. She has 40 years experience in mental health assessment and management of mental illness.

Chris Petropoulos - available Mon PM, Wed AM andThurs AM

Chris completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Podiatry in1989 and continued post graduate study in Exercise for Sports Science. Chris founded Northern Podiatry in 1993 providing care for all nature of foot problems. Since graduating in 1989, Chris has had the opportunity to consult for the Carlton and North Kangaroos football clubs for over 15 years, and has worked with international level tennis and soccer players. He has also had the pleasure of working at both the Athens and Sydney Olympic Games, as well as the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in the villages’ medical facilities known as the Polyclinic. As part of his interest in podiatry Chris is involved in the organisation of seminars and has presented on many topics relating to general and sports foot related issues. He is a member of Sports Medicine Australia as well as the Australian Academy of Podiatric Sports medicine.

Mark Whiteside - available Tues PM and Sat AMMark Whiteside graduated from Latrobe University (with Hons) in 2007. During his studies, and subsequently over many years of practice, Mark developed an interest in the areas of biomechanics and podiatric sports medicine. Mark has been involved in the research of the effects of motion-control footwear on leg muscle activity, and he plans to have his research findings published. Mark also spent several years at Latrobe University, supervising 4th year students in the student clinic. He remains an active member of the Australasian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine and Sports Medicine Australia.

Anthony Mignanelli - available Fri AM and PM and Sat AMAnthony graduated with a Bachelor of Podiatry from La Trobe University in 2012. He also completed his Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness in 2011 due to his interest in sports medicine. Anthony is interested in using footwear, muscle strengthening and orthotics to prevent and rehabilitate foot and lower limb injuries. Having completed his Certificate in Dry Needling, Anthony also incorporates this technique into his clinical practices to reduce trigger points within muscles of the lower limb. Anthony spends part of his time within the Aged Care sector, where his predominant role is the management and prevention of diabetes related foot conditions.

Kobby Suprimaniam is a physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience in clinical settings. Wanting to be a physiotherapist has been his childhood dream. Kobby has played various sports over the years and gained in depth understanding about human movement and injuries. He has primary interest in treating musculoskeletal, sport injuries and fall prevention. He has special interest in assisting senior citizens to improve their physical health. He has worked in various health sectors including hospital settings, private physiotherapy practices and community health settings.Kobby regularly stays up to date to current research and evidence. He always thrivesto provide best practice to his clients. Kobby is a keen follower of St Kilda football team.

PSYCHOLOGY

RHONDA SIDAOUIClinical PsychologistBA (Hons), BSc, Grad Dip(Beh.HealthCare), MAPS, Ass MASH

Rhonda is registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychologist Board of Australia. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society and an Associate Member of the Australian Society of Hypnosis.

She has been working in the field of Psychology for over 25 years and in a variety of settings, including the private sector and with government departments. She initially worked in the rehabilitation field.Client issues and presentations that she has dealt with include: Anxiety and Depression, Adjustment and Stress-related issues, Health-related problems, Confidence and Self-esteem and Personal development issues. Age groups that she has treated range from late adolescence up to the elderly.

Rhonda mainly works within a CBT framework, but she also draws on other approaches depending on her client's clinical presentation and needs. Other approaches that she may employ include: IPT, ACT and Solutions Focused. She is also trained in the administration of Clinical Hypnosis.

Rhonda works at the Reservoir Medical Group on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
