Again, I want to acknowledge everyone who helped to make the Memorial Day ceremony meaningful and purposeful. Ron, Minnie, Lou, Bob, Sophia, and the gentlemen from the Post 20 American Legion, thank you for your participation and my hat is off to Vicki for organizing the event. A hardy welcome goes out to Pat M. who moved into the congregate building last weekend. Pat, I hope you’re settling in and know that we are here to lean on as you acclimate to our community. On Friday, June 21 st , we will be holding a Summer Solstice event. In addition to an exceptional meal, there will be a musical ensemble performing after dinner. Please join us and invite some friends as well as we celebrate the longest day of the year! We will be opening this up to the general public as well and will keep you updated with more details soon. The new outdoor propane fireplace has arrived. We will be assembling it on the patio soon and will plan a time to demonstrate how to operate it, enabling you to enjoy it at your leisure. While it is not a fire burning device, it is more ‘insurance carrier friendly’ and should provide us with hours of enjoyment over the spring, summer, and fall months. I want to wish Jim H., his family, and their friends a memorable Celebration of Life event on Saturday. Elinor’s character and presence will always be greatly missed, highly respected, and forever remembered fondly. Thank you, John and Randy, for the extensive cleaning up you have provided around the congregate building. Similar work throughout the duplexes will ensue soon. ~ Kevin

Hello, Everyone and Happy Friday……………………………………………………..

Again, I want to acknowledge everyone who helped to make the Memorial Day

ceremony meaningful and purposeful. Ron, Minnie, Lou, Bob, Sophia, and the

gentlemen from the Post 20 American Legion, thank you for your participation and

my hat is off to Vicki for organizing the event.

A hardy welcome goes out to Pat M. who moved into the congregate building last

weekend. Pat, I hope you’re settling in and know that we are here to lean on as you

acclimate to our community.

On Friday, June 21st, we will be holding a Summer Solstice event. In addition to an

exceptional meal, there will be a musical ensemble performing after dinner. Please

join us and invite some friends as well as we celebrate the longest day of the year!

We will be opening this up to the general public as well and will keep you updated

with more details soon.

The new outdoor propane fireplace has arrived. We will be assembling it on the patio

soon and will plan a time to demonstrate how to operate it, enabling you to enjoy it at

your leisure. While it is not a fire burning device, it is more ‘insurance carrier

friendly’ and should provide us with hours of enjoyment over the spring, summer, and

fall months.

I want to wish Jim H., his family, and their friends a memorable Celebration of Life

event on Saturday. Elinor’s character and presence will always be greatly missed,

highly respected, and forever remembered fondly.

Thank you, John and Randy, for the extensive cleaning up you have provided around the

congregate building. Similar work throughout the duplexes will ensue soon.

~ Kevin

Inspired by the powerful, true story

of a young Ruth Bader Ginsburg,

this movie depicts a then struggling

attorney and new mother facing

adversity in her fight for equal

rights. When Ruth takes on a ground

breaking case, she knows the

outcome could alter the courts’ view

of gender discrimination.

Stronger together, Ruth teams up

with her husband, Martin Ginsburg,

to fight the case that catapults her

into on e of the most important

public figures of our time.

The Adirondack Wildlife Refuge is a

whose mission is to take in, rehabilitate

and, whenever possible, to return to the

wild, injured or otherwise disabled

wildlife, working with local veterinarians

and volunteers. Please join us on

afternoon of June 4th, garages 9-16 will be swept. Please make sure your

Note From Maintenance

The mystery of the unclaimed teapot has been solved!

Bea M. bought this teapot in Hong Kong China in 1973.

She purchased several teapots as gifts from a

communist run department store. Bea brought them

back the entire flight protecting them on her lap.

The Depot Theatre is presenting “The World Goes ‘Round”

The songs of Kander & Ebb, on Thursday, July 11th at 5pm.

This musical is a clever collage from the songbook of the

multi-Tony award winning team of John Kander & Fred

Ebb. The songs are pulled from their best known musicals,

Cabaret and Chicago, and lesser remembered ones such as

the Act, and Woman of the Year, as well as films New

York, New York and Funny Lady.

Tickets are $34. There will be a sign up sheet on the activity

board next week. Tickets go on sale June 1st, so if you’re

interested, we will be purchasing our tickets by June 21st.

The Clinton County Historical Association Announces

“19th Century Crime in Clinton County”

Thursday, June 6, 2019, 6:30 p.m.

The history of crime in our region in the 1800s is full of enlightening, harrowing and downright bizarre

incidents, and law and history expert Penny Clute will bring that history to light in a talk on June 6 at Lake

Forest Senior Living Community.

Did you know there were public executions in Plattsburgh in the early 1800s? Have you heard of Peggy Facto,

who was hanged in 1825 for killing her newborn child? Or that the first person sentenced to die in the electric

chair instead spent years playing in the Dannemora prison band?

Clute, a former Plattsburgh City Judge, Press Republican columnist, a student of local history, and

accomplished photographer will guide you through the crimes and punishments of 19th century Clinton

County.

The event is a collaboration between the Lake Forest Senior Living Community and the Clinton County

Historical Association and is free and open to the public.
