D Additional Information:• Photo(s) of the proposed area to be covered by artificial turf• Description of manufacturer’s installation procedures• Approximate timeframe that the proposed artificial turf product will

maintain its acceptable overall appearance before replacement is needed• Written verification by the member and product manufacturer that the

product being used is lead and toxic chemical free and meets all of therequirements of the State of California Proposition 65 and all local, state,and/or federal agencies and laws. The Association may require that themember/manufacturer provide the Material Safety Data (MSDS) Sheet

D Sample(s):• Proposed artificial turf (minimum 1 square foot in dimension) along with

the product specifications

D Note: The Association and the ACC, reserves the right to request additionalinformation and/or to state additional specifications and/or requirement prior to any approval of an artificial turf installation.

Application Condition for Approval o It is the Owner’s responsibility to supply any and all details required, as stated in the Home

Improvement Request Application. This gives the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) theneeded information to determine compliance with the CC&Rs and the Architectural ControlGuidelines regarding this proposed Home Improvement Application. The ACC reserves the right torequest additional information when necessary.

o The Owner is responsible for the accuracy of the information supplied within this HomeImprovement Request Application and its compliance with any and all CC&R and ArchitecturalGuidelines. If the construction or installation of any Home Improvement item(s) is deemed non- compliant with the CC&Rs or Architectural Standards after being constructed or installed, even withan approved Home Improve Application, the Owner will be required to correct the non-compliantitem.

http://ucanr.org/turfproject Information about a 2010-2012 demonstration project that studiedwater-efficient, low-maintenance alternatives to traditional lawns. (Project directed by ChuckIngels) Offers several recommendations. Do keep in mind that most of them require an adjustment towinter dormancy (brown lawns for the few months of winter.)

Ruth Risdon Storer Garden at UC Davis Arboretum

Fair Oaks Horticulture Center at 11549 Fair Oaks Blvd in Fair Oaks. UC Cooperative ExtensionMaster Gardeners maintain this garden and offer plant demonstrations, open garden days andworkshops. WEL Garden is free and open to the public all week. The rest of the gardens are open onlyon specific workshops & open garden days.

WPA Rock Garden in William Land Park

Hamilton Square Perennial Garden in the Old City Cemetery (Broadway & Riverside inSacramento.) Perennial garden is joint project of the Perennial Plant Club and the Old City CemeteryCommittee. Garden has lots of color (both blooming & foliage) in all seasons.

Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek

Water District Gardens – Northridge Water District Antelope Garden. 7800 Antelope NorthRoad in Antelope, CA. Generally open May through October. Visitors can stroll through gardens, viewplants and learn about designs and irrigation systems.
