Term 2 Week 2 6 th May 2020 Dear Parents and Carer A cold chill has descended upon us this week, reminding us all that winter is coming. The upside of our current situation is that Ugg boots are once again socially acceptable after noon and, for many of us, the kettle is close at hand! We have been so impressed by how diligently students have returned to their online learning programs this term. I am sure this has much to do with the gentle cajoling of devoted parents. With so many of you juggling your own workload, the current situation may feel almost untenable. We are working towards getting the children back to school as soon as we are able. Next week, will see us enter Phase One our first steps in this process. In the meantime, I would like to state, on behalf of your children’s teachers - your dedication, understanding, perseverance and the support you are extending to your children, and to us teachers, is making a positive impact on your child’s learning and we are eternally grateful for all your efforts. Mother’s Day We would like to extend a very happy Mother’s Day to all the special mums, grand mums, mother figures and aunties of our Hamilton school community. We are so appreciative of all you do and hope you are treated to a special day with some of your nearest and dearest this Sunday. A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.-Cardinal Mermillod. Phase One Commencing next week (Monday 11 th May) Next week, we will enter Phase One of the Managed Return to School Plan. Details regarding school planning were sent home on Monday. It is important that everyone reads and adheres to the advice provided in the document. If our additional student numbers (beyond the allocated students each day) increase, we will divert to Model 3 which will mean supervision of online learning at school instead of face to face teaching. We will absolutely do our best to keep the proposed model in place as this model certainly provides students with the best academic advantage.

Dear Parents and Carer

A cold chill has descended upon us this week, reminding us all that winter is coming. Next week, will see us enter Phase One – our first steps in this process.

Phase One Commencing next week (Monday 11th May)

Next week, we will enter Phase One of the Managed Return to School Plan.

During Phase One:

• You are encouraged to send your child/children to school on their allocated day. • You are encouraged to keep your child/children at home for the rest of the week wherever possible. • If you have not received a phone call and/or email regarding your child’s allocated day, please call

the school office.

You must continue to:

• Follow the school’s advice regarding changes to drop off and pick up locations, including staying in your car when dropping off and picking up your child/children if safe to do so.

• Maintain social distancing by avoiding gathering outside of school gates. • Make sure your child/children have access to lunch and snacks. • Support your child/children to continue learning at home on remote learning days. • Communicate with your school via email and phone wherever possible. • Follow health advice and keep your child/children at home if they are unwell. • Notify the school if your situation has changed and children will be attending more than their

allocated days.

Online Learning Update

Our LaST teacher Mrs Kellie Smith along with teachers of Stage 3 have been experimenting with online Zoom sessions this week. Students have enjoyed interacting through the screen. Expect more Zooming over the coming weeks as this is part of our long-term learning continuity plan. Please chat to your children about acceptable online etiquette to ensure these sessions are safe, respectful, effective, and equitable. A Technology Student Agreement was sent to all families last week. We would really appreciate if you could complete this form with your child/children, if you have not already done so.

As well as Zooming through education, students are submitting a great range of work online. We would like to take this opportunity to showcase some amazing student work.
