It’s a question we’re posing to our audiences this month as WOSU Public Media joins with other public broadcasting stations around the country to mark National Estate Planning Awareness Week, October 19 – 25.
It’s estimated that over 120 million Americans lack proper estate plans to protect themselves and their families in the event of sickness, accidents, or untimely death. But you can have security and achieve your goals by making a plan. You might assume that “leaving a legacy” is something only the very wealthy can do—but everyone has an estate.
To mark Estate Planning Awareness Week, WOSU is offering a free personal organizer, designed to help you compile your most important information and take those first, simple steps toward creating your plan and achieving peace of mind. To request a free copy, contact WOSU’s Advancement Team at [email protected] or (614) 292-9678.
WOSU is extremely fortunate to have a growing number of loyal supporters who have gotten their ducks in a row—and decided to remember WOSU Public Media in their wills. Though diverse in their ages, occupations, politics and interests, they are alike in this way: they have shared with us that their lives are richer for having had WOSU as part of the community, and they want to ensure our mission to engage, inform and inspire will enrich future generations. Their forethought and generosity will impact the organization—and thus the health and vitality of our community—for many decades to come.
If you’d like more information about the topic of estate planning, we invite you to explore www.legacy.wosu.org—a hub for resources, information and inspiring stories about people, just like you, who’ve decided to leave a legacy by investing in the future of WOSU Public Media.
