Dinner & A MovieJoin us on Thursday, April 16 at 4:30 pm in the Christian Life Center for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship. We will be watching Sully with Tom Hanks. On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the “Miracle on the Hudson” when Captain “Sully” Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation

skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career. RSVP with Candy Poirier by April 19 by calling (501) 623-6668 ext. 117.

Interested in a Trip to New Orleans? We are taking a survey to see how many people would be interested in taking trip to New Orleans for a three night stay to tour the National WWII Museum. The trip would be from Wednesday, September 13 - Saturday, September 16. If you are interested, please contact Candy Poirier at (501) 623-6668 ext. 117.

Thank you from the Director Thank you to everyone for the prayers and cards I received during my recent surgery and recovery.

School-Age Enrollment Enrollment for School-age Children begins on Monday, April 3 for children from Kindergarten through sixth grade. Cost is $115 per week or $40 per day.

Call for additional information and a registration form at (501) 318-1377.

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to this wonderful ministry!

The Prayer Team is starting a new program to reach out to our first responders (policemen, fire fighters, and paramedics). We are ordering rubber bracelets with the scripture Matthew 5:9 on them to be shared with our first responders. The national group that makes the bracelets will only mail (for free) 10 bracelets at a time.

If you are willing to help us get these bracelets, please send an email requesting the bracelets to [email protected] with your return address. When you receive the bracelets, please bring them to the Christian Life Center Welcome Center and

put them in the box marked Matthew 5:9 Project. Thank you for your help! From The Prayer Team

Our Getting Ahead class is doing very well and we are now looking for Mentors for those participating in the class. A Mentor meets with their mentee once or twice a month (meetings are the 2nd Thursday, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.) and contacts their mentee weekly. The important thing is the relationship that develops between the mentor and mentee. If you would like to consider being a mentor for those who are seeking to get out of poverty, a Mentor Training class will be provided at the Christian Life Center 103 (Shelton Room) on Saturday, April 22nd, from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.

Please contact Teresa Holt ([email protected] or 501-623-6668/ext. 116) if you would like to participate. We need 10 mentors for our current class and a new class will be starting this Fall.

Underground Youth Recap!VeritasThis year, over 1,200 youth and youth leaders came together in Rogers, AR to celebrate what it means to be connected. Through inspirational words and music led by nationally-known speakers and musicians, young people encounter the Lord in new and deeper ways. Worship describes those times we gather deliberately seeking to encounter God in Christ. God uses worship to transform lives, heal

wounded souls, renew hope, shape decisions, provoke change, inspire compassion, and bind people to one another. The word passionate expresses an intense desire, an ardent spirit, strong feelings, and the sense of heightened importance. Veritas is where we practice Passionate Worship.

Day with the BishopThe confirmation class attended the Arkansas Conference Event Day with the Bishop. Students were introduced to the Bishop, discovered opportunities for community building, and gathered information on “what’s next”, youth programs/ACCYM events, finding a place to serve in their local church, and more!

Melinda Shunk is teaching music and our pastors alternate serving communion to the children once a month! Please share this with anyone you know who has a child with special needs. All are welcome to attend!

Music Camp 2017We are so excited about the annual music camp this year! This year’s music camp will be tied into the VBS theme of Maker Fun Factory and we will be using songs from the VBS program, which will now be the week before music camp. Using songs from VBS, the kids will learn recorder, handbell, and ukulele parts to accompany their singing. We also plan on having our friend Hachya from Drums Alive work with the kids one day of the camp. The camp will be Monday, July 17 - Thursday, July 20 for completed 1st - 5th graders. And of course, we will have dress-up theme days for the kids to enjoy! Register online at http://www.fumchotsprings.org/children/summer-camps-and-vbs/

Blue SundayBlue Sunday is a National Day of Prayer when churches all across the country pray for children who

are victims of abuse and for those who rescue them. Help a child in need who has been in an abused situation by dropping off a NEW stuffed animal to the Christian Life Center Welcome Center

on or before, Sunday April 30. We will donate the stuffed animals to the Garland County Sherriff’s Department, The Call, and the Cooper-Anthony Mercy Child Advocacy Center in Hot Springs. In all

three services, we will pray over these stuffed animals for the child who will receive them.Don’t forget to wear blue!
