STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT
Today’s theme is perseverance — Moses keepinghis hands upraised throughout the battle, Paul urging Timothy to stay with the task of preaching and teaching, and the widow appealing to the corrupt judge. To be faithful stewards of God’s gifts, we, too, must persevere in the roles to which we are called.

OCTOBER 20, 2019
From today’s Gospel reading: The Lord said, "Will not God then secure the rights of God’s chosen ones who call out to God day and night?”
Reflection: The judge in today’s parable cannot be taken as representing God, for he "neither feared God nor respected any human being." But, can we see in the widow an image of our God? She is a persistent voice for justice for the poor and those without voice in our society. Like our God, she will not stop her cry for justice until it is given.
So, we ask ourselves: - What voice speaks a persistent message for justice in our parish? In our church? In our world? - How do those voices affect your choices and actions?
ALTAR SERVER TRAINING
There will be a training session for new altar servers on Saturday, November 9, 1-3:30pm in the church. Thank you to those who have expressed an interest in serving in this very important ministry. We are in need of servers, at all weekend masses, especially at the 5:00pm and 8:00am masses, both adults and children at least 10 years of age, who have received First Eucharist are invited to serve. We are asking that you prayerfully consider participating in this ministry. We welcome both male and female servers and family members who choose to make this a family ministry. Questions? Please call Veronica at (360)377-7674. Current servers who would like a refresher are also invited to attend.
END OF LIFE PLANNING SEMINAR
All parishioners are invited to join our Seniors’ Group in a no obligation, informative Planning Seminar on Thursday, October 7, from 12pm-2pm in Voltin Hall. This session is being offered by a representative from Dignity Memorial/Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home. Lunch will be served. And for every parishioner who attends, Dignity Memorial will make a $10 contribution to support our church renovation! Please RSVP to the parish office so that we can insure ample refreshments for one and all.
TRUNK OR TREAT!
We are inviting you, our Parish Families and Friends to wear your costumes and trick or treat on Sunday, October 27 from
5 to 6:30pm while viewing decorated cars in a safe, designated section of the side and rear parking lot near Voltin Hall. We will be selling hotdogs, hamburgers, a bag of chips, and a drink. Don’t forget to bring your trick or treat bag! If you would like to donate a bag of candy or other fun treat for this event please drop it off at the parish office.
UPCOMING EVENTS FOR HOLY TRINITY SENIORS
A lot is happening this Fall! A few dates have changed due to our temporary space limitations: -October 24, 1 to 3:00pm: We'll be hosted by the seniors of Our Lady Star of the Sea at their Parish Center, Room 1. Bring your favorite dish and prepare for a fun and friendly competitive game. Note that this will be on the FOURTH Thursday, not the SECOND Thursday of the month. -November 7, noon in Voltin Hall: Thanksgiving-themed potluck luncheon, followed by an informative presentation by Matt Hogg of Dignity Memorial Benefit Program. Note that this occurs on the FIRST Thursday of the month.
HOLY TRINITY PRAYER CORNER
Prayer for Seminarians O Lord Jesus Christ, great High Priest, I pray that You call many worthy souls
to Your holy priesthood. Enlighten the Bishop in the choice of
candidates, the Spiritual Director in molding them and the professors in instructing them. Lead the seminarians daily in Your unerring footsteps; so that they may become priests
who are models of purity, possessors of wisdom and heroes of sacrifice; steeped in humility and aflame with love for God and man;
Apostles of Your glory and sanctifiers of souls. Amen.
