Pastor’s Message
On behalf of Fr. Daniel, Fr. Mike, our diaconate staff, our parish pastoral staff, our faith formation staff and myself, I want to pass on our collective thanks and appreciation for your continued sup-port and words of encouragement.
Many people have expressed their gratitude for the live streaming – though sometimes erratic – that we have done with our liturgical celebrations. Your kind words and gestures – from a six (6) feet distance! – are most appreciated by all of us. As you may have already know or read in the local newspaper or saw on our website – www.holytrinitysat.org – that the Archbishop has extended the quarantine for large groups of over ten (10) people to May 18. Due to the best medical advice, he is recommending the current practice to remain as is. He again extends the dis-pensation from Sunday obligation of attendance at Mass through the additional time frame. As someone who is NOT tech savvy, a reminder that we live stream our daily Mass at 8:30AM, Monday through Friday. And on Sunday we have two Masses live streamed. One is 11:15 in English and the other is at 1PM in Spanish. We thank our staff members, Eric Mejia, Maddie Kempf and Kristin Casas for their ex-pertise in helping with the live streaming, and our pa-rishioner, Erick Cruz. Our music ministers continue to volunteer for these celebrations as well. We know and we believe this pandemic will eventually come to an end. Some normalcy, even in new ways, will soon take hold and we can return to a routine that helps us spends face-to-face time with one another. In the meantime stay safe, keep everyone in your prayers, and follow the guidelines that will enhance a quick end to this crisis. Know that you are collectively in my prayers each day, too! I also express my thanks for the greetings and supportive comments on the fortieth (40) anniversary of my ordination to the priest-hood. Where did these last forty (40) years go!! With love and thanks, I am, Msgr. Mike

O Jesus, eternal Truth, strengthen my feeble forc-es; You can do all things, Lord. I know that without You all my efforts are in vain. O Jesus, do not hide from me, for I cannot live without You. Listen to the cry of my soul. Your mercy has not been exhausted, Lord, so have pity on my misery. Your mercy surpasses the understanding of all Angels and people put together; and so, although it seems to me that You do not hear me, I put my trust in the ocean of Your mercy, and I know that my hope will not be deceived. The Art of Really Listening Have you ever reflected on how many times in the Bible we hear of God's listening? In Exodus 2:24 we read how "God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob." Through his prophet Isaiah God said, "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear." (Isaiah 65:24) And we see too how Jesus called upon His Father, thanking Him, asking Him to heal, to have mercy, to take away this cross, and then placing it all in His Father's hands. Sometimes we wish we could do something for those around us who are hurting. But perhaps, though it may not seem like much, all we are called to do at the moment is to "be quick to listen, slow to speak" (James 1:19a). God can work through our caring listening like a soothing salve on a wound, bringing about healing, deeper self-understanding, and the abun-dant life that Jesus promised. Listening is an essential part of Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministers use active listening skills to help people recognize and accept the feelings they are experiencing. If you or someone you know is hurting, having someone to listen with compassionate understanding without judging and with prayerful attention may be just what is needed.
To find out more about how Stephen Ministry works and how you or someone you know could be benefit from a Stephen Minister,

Reflection ~ Master Plan
I leaned back in my chair and looked with great satisfac-tion upon the single sheet of paper lying on my desk. It was my detailed plan for the year. Every goal was neatly and concisely described and categorized based on my per-sonal, spiritual and work roles. It was all there. The master plan for how my life was going to unfold over the next 365 days. The Type A in me was doing a victory dance and giv-ing myself a High-Five. Filled with confidence, I felt invinci-ble. All I needed to do now was execute on my plan and life would be great. Right? Wrong.
I had fallen into the same trap that so many others had. I designed my life around what I wanted my master plan to be, leaving God totally out of the picture. My trying to or-chestrate every detail of my life gave God no room to work. While I may execute my plan perfectly, where I end up will be a destination of my own choosing, leaving me to wonder why I am feeling so isolated and unfulfilled. Instead, I need to invite the Holy Spirit into my planning sessions and ask Him to be the architect of my life. The result will be a life's blueprint sure to create a solid foundation of purpose and fulfillment.
Many are the plans of the human heart, but it is the decision of the Lord that endures. - Proverbs 19:21
