November 24, 2019 – Feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ,

King of the Universe

“….giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light.” (Colossians 1:12) God wants us to be happy! Instead of looking at the Ten Commandments as being restrictive and telling us what we

can’t do, look at them as guides for living a joy-filled and peaceful life. Most of our problems arise when we put our own

needs first or spend most of our time trying to acquire “things.”

Instead, try putting God first in all things. Ask Him how He

wants you to use your gifts.

Our second annual Oktoberfest was another great success,

with 200 in attendance! A giant thank-you to Tim and Krista LaBelle and their dedicated organizing team of Ryan and

Cassandra Ursu, Cathy Craig and Lynden Penner, Miri and James Schiller, Terry Novecosky, Paul and Lena Schuck, Matt

Dipple and Serena La Posta, James Gustafson, and Angela and

Chester Montano.

Charlotte’s Catering served an abundant supper and the band

Sed Contra filled the dance floor. The German Club Choir and

Vince Weber provided great folk music and Jean Duperault led traditional dances as well. We had a silent auction with prizes

from many local businesses, and a photo booth with a variety of interesting costumes (not to mention a mystery cow from

the storage room!).

Final numbers on proceeds are in and over $6000 was raised. It was a highly enjoyable way to help our parish financially

while building up our community at the same time. Thank you

to all who came and made it such a success!

In His Name: Statement on the Persecution of Christians (Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace - 2019)

For complete document see

http://www.cccb.ca/site/images/stories/pdf/In_His_Name_EN_FINAL.pdf

Intolerance - negative portrayals in media or in social circles

Discrimination - treated differently from everyone else, particularly with respect to accessing employment or obtaining

a permit to build a church or other religious building (while other religious groups have no such problems).

Persecution - singled out for arrest or detention, sent to work

camps, tortured, and even killed.

Genocide - directed toward completely eradicating Christians from a region.

On Behalf of Archbishop Donald Bolen, the Archdiocese of Regina and all of the ministries and organizations we fund

and support, we would like to thank everyone for their

prayers and for their help in the various ministries of the Archdiocese. Thank you for your financial support to this

year’s Archbishop’s Appeal. Our Parish Goal is $49,029. To date, the Parish has raised $21,155 or 43.15%. If you

have not already done so, there is still time to make a

contribution, as donations will be accepted until the end of December. Your contributions, regardless of size, will

ensure that the mission of Christ will continue and that the Church of Christ will grow to touch the lives of others,

making the peace and grace of Christ known throughout

the Archdiocese of Regina.

Peace Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace:

Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal

life. AMEN.

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope!

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs,

mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn then O most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy toward us. And after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet

Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the

promises of Christ. ♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫♫

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins Save us from the fires of hell

Lead all souls to heaven Especially those most in need of thy mercy.
