HALLOWEEN CRAFTS FOR THE MARYKNOLL SISTERS
Thanks to all parishioners who volunteered to make crafts from home. Volunteers picked up their craft supplies last weekend and had this
past week to complete them at home. All crafts are due this weekend- Oct 17/18. Parishioners can
leave their completed crafts either in the SC bin for our Maryknoll friends.
PRAYER SHAWL BLESSING
The ladies of Prayer Shawl have been working
hard on crocheting/knitting beautiful, warm shawls and blankets for our elderly or sick
parishioners and friends. They also have been making christening blankets for all babies bap-
tized at Holy Name, plus they have been creating colorful blankets for children at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital who have families staying at
the Ronald McDonald House. Father Abraham will bless all the blankets and shawls on the weekend
of Oct 31/Nov 1. Members should make sure all their completed projects are turned in by Satur-
day morning, Oct 31, so they can be blessed.
LAST MAN STANDING (Our only fundraiser)
RAFFLE TICKETS are currently available at the Rectory. Due to the coronavirus the original drawing was postponed to
next Spring!!.. To date we have sold 94 tickets (the money is in escrow) and
need to sell 300 for Holy Name to have a profit of fifteen thousand.
The tickets are $100 each. And there will be only 300 tickets sold. The winner need not
be present to claim a prize.
PARISH UPDATE
Holy Name purchased a disinfectant atomizer that will spray CDC approved covid solution to help eliminate virus from our Church and Buildings. Al-so, Holy Name installed a bi-polar ionization device to improve the in-door air quality at Church.
After Hurricane Laura dropped a tree on the rec-tory roof, HNJ has been getting estimates for tree removal. There are pres-ently six trees on the prop-erty– three on the hill be-hind the Church and three by the parking lot spaces in the front of the Church that need to be removed. Also there are a number of trees that are in in need of pruning. mold, bacteria and viruses simi-lar to Covid-19. This cost $2,660 for the rooftop unit attached to our system.
