Santa Cruz Catholic Church Anniversary
As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the dedica-tion of the present church, we give thanks to God for the people who constructed it by their prayers, effort, generosity and faith. When we build a church there are two underlying assumptions. The first is that it is built by a community. No one individual can con-struct something so great. It requires that everyone gives what they can, and in the manner that they can, to build something beautiful for God. The second as-sumption is that it is never finished. Generation after generation offers something to build up, to increase, to offer to the next generation of believers. Our work is not complete. Today, we are about $700,000 away from paying off all buildings on the Santa Cruz campus. Each offering to the debt reduc-tion campaign helps move us toward being debt free. More than twenty years ago, parishioners set out on a bold plan to build for a future. A small church of hun-dreds of parishioners could turn into a large church of thousands of parishioners. God’s providence knows our future. Thank you for what you have done and continue to do to make Santa Cruz a place where God is worshiped with fitting praise. Here is to the next 20 years! Welcome As you all know, we have been involved in a search to add new members to our Santa Cruz team. I am pleased to announce that Sheri Brisco has been hired as the Director of Operations for Santa Cruz Catholic Church and School. She comes to us with experience as a Financial Analysis in the Dallas area. She has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Universi-ty of North Texas in Denton. Please welcome her when you see her on campus.

Al celebrar el vigésimo aniversario de la dedicación de la iglesia actual, damos gracias a Dios por las per-sonas que la construyeron con sus oraciones, esfuer-zo, generosidad y fe. Cuando construimos una iglesia, hay dos suposiciones subyacentes. La primera es que está construida por una comunidad. Nadie puede construir algo tan grandioso. Requiere que todos den lo que puedan, y de la manera que puedan, para con-struir algo hermoso para Dios. El segundo supuesto es que nunca se termina. Generación tras generación ofrece algo para construir, aumentar, ofrecer a la próxima generación de creyentes. Nuestro trabajo no está completo. Consecration to St. Joseph The Consecration to St. Joseph is a 33 day spiritual exer-cise where we will contemplate unique meditations and readings each day. The focus of these will be to introduce us to the character of the man St. Joseph, and to ulti-mately prepare us to entrust ourselves to him. Please join us on this spiritual journey each week on Tuesdays at 7 PM in the main church when Fr. Jesse will provide a talk to help us along our consecration path, culminating with a parish wide Consecration Mass on Friday, March 19th on the Feast of St. Joseph at 7:00 PM
The Sacred That Surrounds Us” – Adult Book Study
Santa Cruz is excited to announce a simple study on the book “The Sacred That Surrounds Us” by Ascension Press. Have you ever sat in church and looked around and not fully understand all vessels, vestments, and arti-cles surrounding you? This is an excellent book study about all those Catholic items we see around us in church. It will provide us with their meaning, history, symbolism, as well as visuals. To meet your needs, we will offer this book study in-person here at the parish or virtually. The virtual class will occur on Mondays at 7 PM starting on February 22nd.
