The Music Ministry wishes to congratulate the members of our Junior Choir who are receiving their First Holy Communion this weekend and next. Our congratulations to Matthew McClain, Sean McClain, and Mackinzie Sabol. We are very proud of you! The music for our liturgies this weekend will share some of the same hymns used at the Com-munion ceremonies to show our love and support of our parish children and to help them remember their special day. 21ST ANNUAL CHILDREN’S MEMORIAL MASS St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church

1377 East Main Street Shrub Oak, NY

Saturday, June 6 at 11:00am

We invite all parents, relatives and friends who have endured the loss of a child to join us as we celebrate their lives

before God at the Eucharist.

Monsignor Joseph R. Giandurco, Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Suffern, NY

will be the celebrant. If a child’s name has never been submitted for inclusion in this Memorial Mass, please inform the secretary in the rectory by May 23rd at 914-528-3547

“‘It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to serve at table. Brothers, select from among you seven reputable men, filled with

the Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task, whereas we shall devote our-selves to prayer and the ministry of the

word’… They presented these men to the apostles who prayed and laid hands on them.

The word of God continued to spread,”… “I am

the way and the truth and the life.”

FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

First Reading: Acts 6:1‑7

During the early growth of the Church, the apostles realized that they needed more disciples in order to carry out effectively the ministry of the Church. The community selected seven men, one of whom was Stephen. Second Reading: 1 Peter 2:4‑9

Citing many uses of the word “stone” in the sayings of Jesus and in the Old Testament, Peter urges the Christians to be “living stones...an edifice of spirit.” Gospel: John 14:1‑12

In this beautiful passage from the words of Jesus at the Last Supper, Jesus promises that he is preparing a place for the apostles. He tells them, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.” When Philip asks Jesus to show them the Father, Jesus answers, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”

THE ROSARY

The Rosary is the book of the blind, the manual of the poor,

the breviary of the traveler, the companion of the aged,

the comfort of the sick, and the prayer of every Christian who loves Mary.

Remember, more beautiful than all prayers which saintly ones have written—is the one which the

church has put upon our lips… “Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us

sinners now and at the hour of our death.. Amen.
