HOLY FAMILY SCHOOL SCHOOL NEWS 20 Sunset Drive, Paris, ON N3L 3W4 www.holyfamilyparis.ca • @hfcatholic • ZONE 3 Principal: M. Szoke Secretary: K. Selesi JANUARY 2021 Dear Families, Happy New Year to our Holy Family community! I hope that the holidays, though very different this year, allowed you to at least connect virtually with family and friends to celebrate and rejuvenate. Intend to be positive, resilient and optimistic this year. The staff and students at Holy Family will continue to journey with hearts on fire, ignited by God’s love. Our Remote Learning, though challenging at times, is going remarkably well! Thank you to all our staff, families and stu- dents for your resilience and adaptability as we learn to learn in a new way! We are here to support you in any way we possibly can, hopefully we will back in our building soon. When we return, with the very cold weather on the way, please know that the school has new knitted hats and mittens available, courtesy of the Mary Maxim Fairy Godmothers, if your child is in need. Remember too, that our Saint Vincent de Paul Society is always ready to support families with food, furniture, and clothing. Give me a call anytime, and I can provide confidential direction on how to contact them. There is a PD day Monday, January 18 during which the teachers will be working on the first term report cards. Unlike the Progress Report, in November, the first term report card will assign levels of achievement in accordance with the achievement scales of the Ontario curriculum documents in all subject areas for student work completed since Septem- ber. Report cards go home on February 5, 2021. Parent-Teacher interviews may be requested by the teacher or by the parents and be arranged by appointment with the teachers. There are no “whole school interviews”. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all those families who generously donated gift cards, money, food, and clothing to our Tree of Warmth and Society of St. Vincent De Paul collections this year and made a difference for families in our community and beyond. ~Mrs. Szoke QUICK LINKS Make sure to bookmark the below links for a quick way to access daily updates and news. SCHOOL COUNCIL MESSAGE

    Dear Families,

The Parent School Council wishes you all a Happy New Year. With the many challenges in 2020 and the beginning of 2021, we are grateful for

our school community and the hard working teachers and staff.

Thank you for your participation in the pizza nights. $580 was raised… that’s a lot of pizza! You also helped us raise $435 in the December online auction. Watch for the January auction to open soon- details will

    come by email.

Did you know that your contributions to our fundraising helps cover the cost of things like the healthy snack program, greening of the playground, special technology for the classroom and more?! Thank you again for all

    your support.

Our next council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19th at 6:30 PM on MS Teams. Please email Mrs. Szoke if you are interested in

attending. Parent guests are always welcome.

We wish you and your family health and happiness in 2021.

On behalf of School Council, Rachel Morton & Melodie Spencer, Co-Chairs
