FROM THE PASTOR’S DESKDear Parishioners,

It is hard to believe that we are already in 2015! There were many gatherings, family celebrations and open house events in the last four weeks. Once again, I would like to thank all of you for your presence and prayers in all our Advent,

Christmas and New Year’s celebrations! Our packed church was filled with many parishioners, visitors and hopefully returning Catholics. I hope this is just the beginning of revitalized spirit within our community.

Thank you for all of you who came to our Open House. Fr. Robert and I were very pleased to see so many of you at our place and to meet you in a very different set up. Your cards, wishes and words of support are very precious to us!

Have a wonderful start of the New Year and I hope and pray that it will be filled with joy and many inspiring events!

ANNOUNCEMENTSKNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS GENERAL MEETING is on Thursday, January 8th at 7pm in the church basement.

The next study in the GREAT ADVENTURE BIBLE STUDY series will be Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come This is a Catholic Bible Study beginning January 14, 2015 at 7:30 at Holy Cross Church. It is open to returning and new

participants. More information is available after Mass January 3/4 and 10/11 or contact Ross Greco 604-644-2864 to register. The $35 registration fee covers the binder and the 15 sessions. We will begin with a 4 part introduction to the Bible and Salvation History with Jeff Cavins, and then look at one of the most talked-about books in Scripture. Jeff Cavins explores Revelation to demonstrate how the Kingdom established by Christ in His Church is intimately connected with the Kingdom of Heaven, especially through the celebration of the Mass. You will also learn what all the mysterious figures and images of Revelation represent, as well as what will happen during the Second Coming of Christ, what has already happened, and what is happening now in Salvation History.

CWL GENERAL MEETING – The first General meeting of the New Year will take place on Thursday, January 15 at 7:00pm in the church basement music room. Our special guests will be Pat and Vicki Conroy, founders of Agape Street Ministry. We encourage all members to attend and extend an invitation to all women of the parish to join us in welcoming the Conroy’s and listening to their inspirational story.

CULTURE OF LIFE BABY SHOWER - Please bring your new or gently used baby and maternity clothes and supplies (not furniture) to our collection at January 24-25 masses in the church lobby, for pregnant women and new mothers in distress. The PLACEMENT EXAM for students entering grade 8 in September 2015 is on Thursday, January 22, 2015. In order to write
