"Twelve More Women of the Bible"
Wednesday morning services of the Mendota Church Women Lenten Worship continues through April 10th. You are invited to join us at
9:30AM, on March 27th, at First Presbyterian Church (which is on the corner of 5th Street and 10th Avenue, and is handicapped accessible
from the parking lot).
This year's program is based upon the study, "Twelve More Women of the Bible," which examines the spiritual lessons learned
from twelve biblical women and what they mean for today's women. Each session includes worship, a video presentation, and a brief
discussion in small groups. A free-will offering will be taken for donations to organizations serving our community. Refreshments and
fellowship will follow. The topic on March 27th is: Shulamite Woman - We Had God at Hello. Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of which church you attend. Please join us, and bring a friend or
neighbor. Thank you, Holy Cross members who donated delicious baked goods
and volunteered when we led the services on March 20th. Your help is
greatly appreciated!

St Mary’s Altar Society
What a lovely afternoon we enjoyed last Saturday! Our society hosted our first Haute Couture Fashions and Spring Luncheon. We were honored to have Father Pilon, Father Fulgens and Deacon Ray as well as 130 other guests in attendance. Adults and children modeled fashions from the following stores: Mendota Sport Shop, Christopher and Banks, Kelley Cawley, Four Seasons, Juniper and Mae and The Milk Mustache. Door prizes were donated by August Hill Winery, Kelley Cawley Boutique and Lori McConville. We wish to thank the participating stores, door prize donors, Sullivan’s, Jerry Prokuski and Shirley Prescott for the decorations, the committee and everyone who helped in any way to make our day enjoyable for everyone. Thank you to all our guests!
On behalf of all of us here at Holy Cross I want to thank Nancy Goble and the Altar and Rosary Society for their hard work and dedication to improving our Church. The bathroom project is complete and looks great. God bless to you all.
—Fr Pilon
2019 Annual Diocesan Appeal
The Diocese of Peoria is made up of 156 parishes and over 55,000 registered Catholic families. There are many ministries and apostolates the Diocese can offer that we as a single parish cannot. Catechetical training for schools and CCD teachers, recruitment and training of priests, medical care for retired priests, ministry to our students on college campuses, evangelization, administration of many of the details of parish finances… these are just a few of the many services we receive from the Diocese of Peoria. Your support, in prayer and through your sacrificial gift, make it possible to provide these services.

HOLY CROSS CHURCH SUNDAY, MARCH 24, 2019 MENDOTA, ILLINOIS
Dear Holy Cross Congregation:
On behalf of the Mendota Area Christian Food Pantry, I would like to thank you for your donation of $584.00 we received on March 12, 2019.
Your financial support helps us continue in our mission to assist those in our community. Mendota Area Christian Food Pantry is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible. The Mendota Area Christian Food Pantry did not supply any goods or services in return for this donation.
Your generous support makes it possible for our organization to exist and to make the community a great place to live. On behalf of the entire staff and volunteers, thank you again for your support.
Sincerely, Beverly Banks, Manager
Church Cleaning
We will be cleaning our church for Easter on Saturday, March 30th after the 8:00am Mass. If you would like to clean before the 30th there will be a sign up board in the Sacristy of the church. Make sure you mark off what you did so we don’t do it twice. We ask all who can, men and wom-
en, to help, as everything is scrubbed down and cleaned. Please bring your own bucket and rags. The more help we have, the lighter the load for every-one. Attention to the Confirmation Class of 2019, to help clean the church is a good way to earn your Confirmation Service hours. Thank you for your help! See you on the 30th.
