Dear Parishioners,
Dear Parishioners,We are definitely back into our daily routines. Here, at Holy Cross, it began as usual, with the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, celebrated every year on September 14, recalling
these historical events: the finding of the True Cross by Saint Helena, the mother of the emperor Constantine and the dedication of churches built by Constantine on the site of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Something I would like you to remember about this particular Feast is it reminds us that the cross is the instrument of our salvation – not only on Sept. 14 – but every day. The Cross of Christ is our redemption. We make the Sign of the Cross, we have crucifixes in different rooms in our home and we venerate relics of the Holy Cross. Yes, and our Parish is called Holy Cross.
We started celebrating this Feast by gathering at Mass on Saturday and Sunday, September 16th and 17th, gaining a Plenary Indulgence. We continued this gathering in the afternoon, coming together for our Annual Salmon BBQ. A great time was had by all.
Speaking of “routine”, be attentive to the programs being offered starting in September or October: RCIA, Bible Studies, PREP classes, NeoCatecumenal Way, Iconography classes, Consecration to Mary and many more.

PREP CLASSES begin on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 at 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival ALL families & students to go directly into the church. REMINDER: NO Registrations will be accepted on this evening.
PARKING – HOLY CROSS PARISHThe repaving of our parking lots (church and school) are now
completed. Please abide by the signs that are clearly displayed, especially the one saying: “FIRE LANE – DO NOT PARK”. This is
adjacent to the side of the school gym.
Also parking on the East side of Delta Avenue in front of the Church. Make sure you take note of the signs as to “where to park”. Otherwise, you may be ticketed.
Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast will be held after the 8:00 am, 10:00 am and 12:00 Noon Masses in the Gym.
CWL - Please join us on Thursday September 21st at 7:00 pm for Mass followed by a meeting in the Church Basement where there will be a member from the Neocatechumenal Way speaking about this Ministry.
School Corner
Walk In The Lawns WalkathonOn the September 30th and October 1st masses, students will be announcing their annual Walk-In-The-Lawns walkathon fund raiser to be held on Friday, October 6th. After each mass, students will be at the back of church accepting donations to assist them in reaching their goal.”
Challenge GirlsThe Challenge Girls Club at Holy Cross is set to begin on Fri Sept 22, 2017! We are inviting all girls aged 10-13 (gr.5-8) to join the faith based girls club. The girls create great friendships, develop leadership skills, deepen their faith and have fun playing games doing crafts, volunteering and much more! We meet Friday nights at Holy Cross from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Interested girls are asked to join us on Fri Sept 22 at 6:30 pm for the club’s kick off event.
