PLACES TO SEE * THINGS TO DO

SOUTH BEACH HIGHLIGHTSAlong the Broadwalk, you can stroll, walk, run, bicycle, or rollerblade. Built in the 1920s and now lovingly renovated, this seaside pedestrian pathway bordered by restaurants and lodgings has been called one of the Top 10 Nostalgic Promenades by USA Today. On the beach, you’ll find six miles of fun. Get up for a game of volleyball, or simply relax on the white sand and waves, and soak up the sun. Cabanas and beach chair rentals are available. Hollywood beach has been designated a “Blue Wave Beach” by the Clean Beaches Council for 10 years in a row. It’s managed responsibly, with a focus on protection of health and the environment. Jump right in, the water’s warm!

NORTH BEACH HIGHLIGHTSHollywood boasts unique eco-adventures and you’ll find them here. We have 62 parks so make an adventure of it, and see how many parks you can discover. (Hint: There are 12 on the water). On the North Beach line, you can find kayak and canoe rentals at West Lake Park,* or visit the unique eco-friendly Sea Turtle Hatchery at Hollywood North Beach Park. Also check out Anne Kolb Nature Center,* a 1,500-acre eco-system with mangroves, trails, canoe trips, eco-tours and exhibits. Dogs and their owners can visit the Dog Beach of Hollywood, ½ mile north of Sheridan Street to enjoy sunny afternoons with other four-legged friends.

DOWNTOWN HIGHLIGHTS

When you visit Downtown, make sure you bring your appetite. It’s home to the area’s most delicious dining, from seared steak to fresh local seafood, from authentic American to foreign flavors, from big breakfasts to divine desserts. Downtown is also home to unique boutiques, art galleries, hip nightclubs and cultural hot spots that offer another taste of Hollywood’s distinct flavor. Hop off and explore the family friendly fun of the 10-acre interactive ArtsPark at Young Circle, with its singing baobab trees, water sculpture fountain, children’s play area, and featured entertainment. Young Circle is named after Joseph W. Young who envisioned and founded the city in the 1920’s. The Hollywood Trolley passes his home at 1055 Hollywood Boulevard.
