Vincent van Gogh (1853­1890) is now a world famous painter, but during his lifetime few people knew or appreciatedhis work. For much of his life he lived in the province of Brabant, drawing and painting everyday people and objects.

From Van Gogh’s house of birth in Zundert to where the The Potato Eaters lived and the old watermill in Nuenen ­along this route you can find out more about Van Gogh’s life and work. You can also enjoy the Brabant countrysidehe loved so much and see different locations which inspired him. In 2014 part of the cycle route near Nuenen hasbeen turned into the world's first glow­in­the­dark cycle path, inspired by Van Gogh's painting The Starry Night. Formore about this go to our Blog story: Cycling through a Van Gogh painting (/blog/102­cycling­through­a­van­gogh­painting)

Route: Round trip starting in: Nuenen, Zundert, Etten­Leur, Tilburg or ’s Hertogenbosch. The long­distance cycle route has been conceived around 5 individual round trips, which can becycled in a day.

Distance: 335 kmDay trips from Nuenen (56 km), Zundert (65 km), Etten­Leur (32 km), Tilburg (50 km), ’s­Hertogenbosch (30 km).
