DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this presentation is to show how our life's "pie" changes from childhood throughout spiritual maturity... and how a holistic perspective and design approach can effectively meet our needs. Many graphics and quotes are drawn from the internet as case study. Author of lecture claims no credit for these and this is published for educational purposes only with no intent to sell.

Holistic living means you have balance in all areas of your life, including health, relationships, career, finances and spirituality.

Holistic health focuses upon nutrition, exercise, sleep patterns and overall wellness (body, mind and spirit).

Holistic doctors may be trained practitioners in one of several holistic remedies, or licensed medical doctors who have obtained further education to practice holistic medicine. There are a wide range of holistic treatments, including acupuncture, aromatherapy, therapeutic massage, and meditation. The main principle behind most holistic approaches is to treat the entire person, meaning the physical body as well as the emotional well-being of the patient

Holistic architecture is designing a home or business incorporating my unique design elements; environmentally sustainable/green products and energy/physics into a cohesive wholeness to produce a physical, spiritual and emotional well-being into the design/ home/business.

So… what is “Holistic Design?”

Holistic Design is best simply described as “designing for appropriate fit and vibrant health within the whole of life and being.”

It is you becoming conscious of every thing and every system -knowing how it affects you and you affect it. Such awareness can only be striven for... “perfection”, as believed by most people, only exists in the divine.

It is the gradual realization that “you” are more than your body, mind & heart… that you are part of an interconnected whole. As the body values any one of its parts, you are valued. It is not complete without you; you are not complete without it.

“The most important thing about designing is to generate creativity in others, and to be inclusive – to include the needs and experiences of people interacting with the environment, and to let them be part of its creation.”

Page 8: Holistic Design Fashion Class Lecture

“We have emerged from nature and we are her children… thus we maintain a kind of typical Love-Hate relationship with her — like a teen-age child we need the security of her warmth, the stability of her as a source and at another moment we want to be free and on our own and left loose of her disciplines. At times we have courted her, at times defied her —mostly taken her for granted as the stable source which would forever nurture us and keep us going.

That seems finally not to be inevitable…we have begun (I hope deeply enough) to finally realize that this root source is in fact in jeopardy and that by our actions we are permanently destroying her.”

Did I make a difference? Yes, but…

“You are correct in saying that I would be better applied to a strategic nature

of work. I look to such a position with a very creative, multi-disciplinary,

ecologically-minded organization… focused on the world market.”
