September 16, 2016 On behalf of the Board of Directors of Union Station Kansas City, Inc., we extend this exclusive invitation for you to be part of our next history-making event . . . direct from Italy and certain to be THE must-attend, pre- holiday gathering! As background, Union Station was recently named the premier host of the upcoming, limited, three-city North American tour of POMPEII: The Exhibition. What an impressive recognition for our community and a rare privilege for the entire region. As is fitting of such an important honor, an exclusive grand opening celebration—with all the style and sophistication expected—is being planned. Your presence is requested. This grand kickoff will feature the sights, sounds and tastes of Italy . . . an immersive evening not soon to be forgotten. And, importantly, all proceeds will directly benefit the Union Station Preservation Fund. This will be an experience like only Union Station can stage. “A Night in Ancient Pompeii,” planned for 6 pm, Thursday, November 17. You and your guests will be the first to travel back in time to that fateful morning in 79 A.D. when Pompeii bustled as a commercial port and strategic military and trading city. Experience the lives of the city’s residents—how they lived, loved, worked and played. You will literally feel the ground tremble as the ancient city of Pompeii awakens to a day of devastation, followed by a lifetime of discovery. We are also thrilled to announce that Honorary Vice Consul of Italy, Gino Serra & Paetra Serra, and Ursula Terrasi & Jim Miller will co-host this magnificent evening. Plans are already in motion for a most remarkable benefit . . . indeed, one of the hottest tickets in town. Clear your calendar as we celebrate Kansas City’s storied Italian heritage (Italian lineage not required!) while supporting the preservation of Kansas City’s beloved Union Station.
