Welcome to another edition of The flyer. As can be seen, the cruising season is well and truly underway.

Our Christmas function saw a wonderful turnout of members and their cars which turned a lot of peo-ple’s heads along the way to the Barossa Valley. The late change in the venue did not create any issues, with the Weintel Resort more than accommodating the club—a big thank you to Erica and staff.

A Saturday Twilight cruise was trialled with good feed-back received from mem-bers, that kicked back to enjoy a beautiful sunset. The other highlight was the entertainment provided by Jo and Emily playing beach cricket.

Looking ahead, our pro-gramme is packed with driv-ing, socialising and good

and soft drinks for this event.

Cruise to GM Day with HTC—get your pre entries in early to avoid any delays on the day and travel to Tanunda as a group. Meet-ing point is Gawler 06.04.2013 at 7:30am to get away at 8:00am. What better way to spend a lazy Sunday than being sur-rounded by the vast array of GM vehicles.

If you have any sugges-tions for future events etc, please put them forward—enjoy your cars and enjoy your club.

This weekend takes us to the Mainline Drive-in at Gepps Cross to sit back in the night air with the cars as the back drop and watch the movies on offer. The night is great value at $17.00 per movie per car. Load up with passengers, deck chairs, blankets and a supper to enjoy the HTC February event.

March means Dazza Cruise .. this a Annual event takes us to the banks of the mighty River Murray in Mannum. The event is the opportunity for a lucky member(s) to have their name(s) and car(s) immortalised on the HTC Members Choice Per-petual Trophy.

All members present will vote for the car of their choice, with the winner an-nounced that day. HTC will be providing a BBQ lunch

After a last minute change to the venue, the Weintel Resort in the Barossa Valley was where the HTC Crew were heading.

The regular meeting point at Medindie fast became crowded with the gathering of so many cars. Heading off and driving through the suburbs, we made our way to the catch up point at Bolivar. It wasn’t too long be-fore the service station was almost brought to a stand still from the number of cars and onlookers admiring and shar-ing stories of the days when they had their own Torana.

Leaving the car park, the pro-cession headed north along Port Wakefield Road before veering off onto the Northern Expressway.

It didn’t seem that long until we were driving on Gomersol Road heading to the heart of the Barossa Valley. The casual drive took in all the sights in-cluding rolling hills and vine-yards.

Reaching our destination in Tanunda and after a long pause of comparing notes and admiring the cars, it was time to make our way inside, enjoy the company and celebrate the festive season with a fantastic feast..

The Holden Torana Club Mem-bers were nearly as surprised and excited as the kids when the distant sound of bells ring-ing was heard.

January 2014

The start of the New Year and the HTC calendar began with a Twilight Cruise.

On a warm Saturday evening, the cars gathered at Medindie before setting off to our destina-tion of Largs Bay. This being the first Saturday cruise, we had a great turnout with every model on display.

We began the cruise heading along the city fringe and on to South Road, then making our way along Anzac Highway..

Turning right at Glenelg, our next landmark was the Adelaide Airport, then heading towards the local beaches—West Beach, Henley, and Grange.

Heading to Semaphore, it was apparent we needed to make a quick detour because a local event was causing major traffic chaos—thanks Glendi Festival...

Passing the crowds of people through Semaphore, it was a clear run to our destination, arriving in time to see the sun sinking into the horizon.

Most members gathered in the car park and were happy to catch up and chat, while some decided to walk along the beach, or have a quick game of beach cricket as the daylight disappeared.

It was a great way to spend a warm Saturday evening, hope all that attended enjoyed the event.

Don’t forget the HTC Drive in Movie Night is on Saturday the 15th of February.
