What a blessing to have so much muscle to help make so many im- provement s at the home this summer. We got a fresh coat of paint in the girls living room and new curtains and pillows made from used jeans. The tables, benches, and chairs were varnished and a needed screen door was installed. The girls love how the room feels happy and cozy . Teams also did additional work in one of our tutor- ing classrooms. They were also able to assist the local church that the children attend. Picking up where the other team from Cimmer- on Kansas left off. They were able to nearly complete the second Sunday school classroom for the kids to use at this growing vibrant little church. The team was blessed to work along side Bolivia Christian men building NOT only a classroom but a bridge of friend- ship as they share in the work of the Lord. Thanks to three sweet families from Cimmeron, Kansas. Thank YOU Jantz, Beaver ,and Woods families for your sweat equity and the joy in serving together as friends and family in Christ. We were able to pick up many tips from Tia Karen, Tia Lauren, Tia Ginni, and Tia Helen in classroom manage- ment and behavior modification. We all benefitted from the drum class given by Tio Woody. In addition to shar- ing about their expertise, the Tios lent their muscles to the various construction jobs around TC, the little boys loved working along side this big guys. In July another team came from 1st United Methodist Church in Kenosha ,Wisconsin also visited us this summer. This was a special team comprising of educational specialists.

What a blessing to have so much muscle to help make so many im-

provement s at the home this summer. We got a fresh coat of paint

in the girls living room and new curtains and pillows made from

used jeans. The tables, benches, and chairs were varnished and a

needed screen door was installed. The girls love how the room feels

happy and cozy . Teams also did additional work in one of our tutor-

ing classrooms. They were also able to assist the local church that

the children attend. Picking up where the other team from Cimmer-

on Kansas left off. They were able to nearly complete the second

Sunday school classroom for the kids to use at this growing vibrant

little church. The team was blessed to work along side Bolivia

Christian men building NOT only a classroom but a bridge of friend-

ship as they share in the work of the Lord. Thanks to three sweet

families from Cimmeron, Kansas. Thank YOU Jantz, Beaver ,and

Woods families for your sweat equity and the joy in serving together

as friends and family in Christ.

We were able to pick up many tips from Tia Karen, Tia

Lauren, Tia Ginni, and Tia Helen in classroom manage-

ment and behavior modification. We all benefitted from

the drum class given by Tio Woody. In addition to shar-

ing about their expertise, the Tios lent their muscles to

the various construction jobs around TC, the little boys

loved working along side this big guys.

In July another team came from 1st United Methodist Church

in Kenosha ,Wisconsin also visited us this summer. This was a

special team comprising of educational specialists.

...and can be especially hard on our kids.

We are sad when kids and volunteers must leave Talita Cumi, but we are confident that

each one goes with God. We pray that God will watch over them and bless them all.

In July we said Goodbye to Gustavo16 years old and 14 year old Grismaldo, and 9 year old

Juan Pablo P. had been at TC for 1 year. The older boys have been at the home since they

were 5 and 6 years old . These young men have been transferred to two different boys

homes that will better fit their situation. We pray that what the Lord has begun in their

lives He will see to completion.

Muriel Erni, heads back to Switzerland this September

after pouring out her heart in service to the children

and staff at Talita Cumi and the local church and com-

munity here in Santa Cruz. We will miss you Tia Muriel!

Goodbyes can be bitter sweet...

God is the one who began this good work in you,

and I am certain that he won’t stop before it is

complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns

New faces join

the TC Family

Meet 11 year old Helen:

was recently transferred

from a different home in

Cochabamba. Helen is a

quiet observer. Helen

likes to ride the big bike

at the park and is a won-

derful reader.

Meet Cristian: 8 years

old who also just arrived

the last day of August.

Crisitan likes to ride the

bicycle.

Meet Bryan: Bryan just

arrived and is a very re-

sponsible young man.

Brayan is smart in math

and playing games.

Nicols Journey

We would like to share a little

about 13 year old Nicol, she is a

hard working girl with a sweet

disposition. When she and her

little brother Rodrigo came to TC

4 years ago, Nicol was totally traumatized and cried about every-

thing. In time Nicol has grow to feel Gods love and peace here and is

developing her gifts and talents. Nicol loves art and music and has a

gift of both. She loves to make things beautiful and organized. She is

kind, generous, honest, respectful and loving to her friends and tias

at TC. Having Nicol around makes everyone feel like they are

blessed.

Dreams of future Construction plans

We are hoping to add on a 2 story addition to the boys front patio.

The bottom floor will be used for

meetings with the families of the

children and for weekly staff meet-

ings. The upstairs will provide more

floor space for workshops like sew-

ing classes. We hope to see this real-

ized in 2017. We are looking for

teams to build and funds.

Prayer requests

Pray for the children who just left. Gustavo, Grismaldo and Juan

Pablo.

For the new kids who just joined us Helen, Bryan, and Cristian
