    With exception of 4 credits including using a white roof to mitigate the heat island effect ,some water reduction strategies relative to plumbing, and HVAC energy optimization, these first 3 sections of possible LEED credits had nothing to do with the building itself.10 out of 14 of the credits in the first 3 categories of LEED are non- building relatedand were in large part pre-mandated criteria from the Massport Design GuidelinesItems in this category included:Water saving flow devicesMoisture control measures to prevent microbal contaminationUse advanced energy management systemsUse HVAC economizersUse energy saving light fixtures400 Hz power at all gates

    Locally produced building materials to minimize transportationUse low volatile organic compound (VOC) containing materialsMinimize use of PVC materialsProvide public art to enhance visual experience-Super-insulated walls & ceilings to enhance thermal efficiency
