? HoHoTO is a holiday party designed to raise sorely needed funds for Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank. Now in its sixth year, HoHoTO has become a hyper-connected social media movement and a remarkable example of the power of self-organizing online groups.
Using a collective network of close friends and loose ties, the founding team kicked off a process that lit up the tweetstreams and blogvines, quickly turning a much, much bigger group of people on to the same core idea:

ü In Toronto, people just like you made more than a million visits to food banks last year.
ü Food bank use is growing – in fact, it’s up 23% nationally since 2008.
ü More than 34% of the people relying on food banks in the GTA are children.
ü The median monthly household income in Toronto is only $1,000.
ü The median amount of money people are left with per day (after rent has been paid) is less than a TTC round trip ($6).
