Adobe Illustrator:

Using Adobe Illustrator, I traced an image. I adjusted the threshold, clicked ignore white and then expand. I selected windows, swatches and opened my swatch library. I clicked the white arrow (direct selection tool) and coloured in each part of my image.

I selected the black selection tool in Illustrator, pressed edit and copy. I opened Photoshop and opened a new image to use as a background. Next, I copy and pasted the image of the fairy on to the background and pressed the tick at the top of the page. This allowed me to open up Illustrator and continue editing the fairy image while saving those edits in Photoshop.
