The Advantages and Benefits of Single Frequency Networking Single Tx’s vs. Multiple Tx’s Reasoning: The necessity of providing quality service to large areas can’t always be fulfilled with the simple increase in power of a single transmitter. There is a great chance of saturating the nearby receivers. There is also the difficulty of keeping the transmission within the contour area, or without interfering with transmission in the space that belongs to other broadcasters. -The cost of a single high power transmitter (often with a redundant price) can be broken down across several lower power stations, maintaining and improving redundancy and optimizing coverage with a gradual investment.

Advantages: - Better use of the frequency spectrum allowing growth for TV channels. - Uniform distribution of radiated power Distribution increases system availability and reliability.
