Loading the rifle

Press magazine catch, and themagazine will slide out. Insert filled

magazine into the rifle until themagazine catch engages.

Then retract the bolt all the way

by means of the cocking lever onthe right side of the rifle. The catchlever located behind the cockinglever will engage and hold the boltopen. Depressing the catch lever

slightly will cause the bolt tosnap forward, chamber a roundfrom the magazine, and lockinto the receiver. The rifle is now

Field stripping

Under normal conditions, it is

only necessary to clean the exter-nal components of the rifle and toclean the bore. In the event ofheavy fouling or to remove mois-ture or water in the rifle, it is ad-

visable to strip the rifle for tho-rough cleaning. Unscrew thehexagon socket screw at the endof the upper receiver all the way.Remove the upper receiver to the

rear. Remove buffer and recoilspring.

You can now remove the boltassembly by passing a screw-driver through the hole for thescrew and forcing the firing pinforward. It is not necessary tofurther strip the rifle forcleaning (except for the bolt
