Bago is a second class city in the province of Negros Occidental in the Philippines, some 21 kilometres (13 mi) south of the provincial capital Bacolod. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 163,045 people.[3]
Bago operates a subsidized college, Bago City College, located at Rafael M. Salas Drive in Barangay Balingasag. Most of its students come from Bago and from the southern part of the island. The Bago City School was established in 1980.
Buenos Aires Mountain Resort is one of the main tourist destinations in Bago City and so are the Kipot Twin Falls.
The city fiesta is celebrated on November 5 in commemoration of the Negros Revolution.

Ramn D. Torres was elected as Mayor of Bago City in 2007, replacing Janet E. Torres, whose husband served as mayor for almost 40 years.[5] The coliseum located in the heart of the city is named after him.
