Steeped in history

Genichi Kawakami was the first son of Kaichi Kawakami, the third-generation president of Nippon Gakki (musical instruments

and electronics; presently Yamaha Corporation). Genichi studied and graduated from Takachiho Higher Commercial School in

March of 1934. In July of 1937, he was the second Kawakami to join the Nippon Gakki Company.

"If you are going to make it, make it the very best there is." With these words as their motto, the development team poured all

their energies into building the first prototype, and ten months later in August of 1954 the first model was complete. It was the

Yamaha YA-1. The bike was powered by an air-cooled, 2-stroke, single cylinder 125cc engine.

And so begun the YAMAHA Motor Corporation.

Our team comprises commercial helicopter pilots, skilled mechanical

engineers, professionals and agricultural applicators. Our design

team has delivered safety in design and reliability for over thirty

years. We bring to the industry assurance of professionally delivered

results through continuous improvement - our ‘kaizen’.

Our Training is to world’s best practice standard and CASA recognised

Our training program delivers the Remote Pilot Licence course (RePL ) recognised by CASA across

Australia and New Zealand. After three weeks you will have gained the best industry level qualification

including full YAMAHA RMax endorsement on the ‘Medium Class’ UAV up to 150kg.

YAMAHA has built the biggest unmanned helicopters in

it’s class. We can carry up to an enviable 40Kg payload,

and fly further than any current drones - up to 100

minutes. We have several platform options including

stabilised cameras, LiDAR scanners, incendiary devices,

spray lances, spraying and seeding options.

YAMAHA SKY has been providing unmanned helicopter or drone services

since 2012. Our platform is designed for PAYLOAD and ENDURANCE in mind.

When it comes to safety, there are NO COMPROMISES, thus we have built a

platform with multiple redundancies including, AUTO HOVER in case of GPS or

signal loss, fuel reserves and low fuel warning. Our platform has full Auto

Pilot pre-programmed flight planning with EVLOS and BVLOS capability.

Since the first R50 in the 1990’s YAMAHA SKY has continued to develop a

bigger and better platform with more power. Our experience comes from

being one of the WORLD’S LARGEST engine manufacturers, with over 52,000
