CHANGES IN GAMES• Since the beginning of video games, the

content for the games have been steadily modeled specifically after current or new occurrences

• During and after the 1970’s the profits from video games steadily grew– Game developers focus on what they felt the

consumer would buy– Profits were a main focus

1983-1985: THE CRASH• Between 1983 and 1985 the video game

market experienced a 97% drop in revenue!

• Too many consoles on the market

• Poor titles by startup companies– Put out the games before they were refined

• Home computer popularity was growing
