4 years of disaster, in this horrible war, "WW1"    

100 Years ago in Europe a war was starting, Everyone was prepared for what it could be the worst war in history. Countries and empires waited in the line of battle, The triple entente and The triple alliance were two main “blocks” one against the other. The final straw was the assassination of franz ferdinand in 1914, in Sarajevo.  

   The countries were divided in two alliances: The triple alliance(axis) and the triple entente(allies). the triple alliance was formed by the Germans, the austro­hungarian and the Italian. The triple entente was formed by the british, the french and the russians. in 1917 the USA joined the triple entente   

  

The war started in 1914 and 32 nations were involved in it. in only 4 years and 3 months,the war murdered 9 million soldiers.    

Germany had a big threat. the encirclement. it was the fact that germany was in between the russians and the french. 

In 1900, Great britain saw that the germans were growing their naval power. Since G britain was the king of the seas,they thought that the germans were trying to “conquer the seas” 

  The war was expected to last month’s or one year, but that was the opposite, because the war lasted 4 years (1914­1918). “The war lasted 4 years (1914­1918) although the war was expected to last one year or even a some months.”   

The trench war where the most common, there were more than one trench war.The united states,france,germany, and russia fought in these wars. The enemies were very close to each other,leading to lots of dead and wounded people. Thanks to all the mud and the barbed wires,cavalry or soldiers on foot couldn't charge to their enemies. The trench war was call that way because in the war they were trenches, that are underground holes where the soldiers could rest. 

 One of the trench wars between germany and france was called the 

“Stalemate” word taken from Chess,it is used to say that no one in each team could make a decisive or winning move. Germany and france could not make a breakthrough by charging into their enemies thanks to,as i said, the barbed wire, machine guns, mud,etc. They couldn't defeat each other without charging either. They had more supplies coming all the time. The artillery was effective,but not enough.

  1917 was a very important year for the war Russia left the war, USA entered the war at the end of 1917. the Germans sank many american passenger ships they thought that they had merchants to help the allies, they ended up killing many people and sinking many ships, including  the RMS Lusitania. But the final straw was that the Germans were hoping to make an alliance to mexico, but ultimately this could not be carried out.  

   Russia left thanks to the russian revolution. It was the fact that the russians got a new government. the communists. after this event, they made peace with germany,letting them get thousands of troops back to the western front, in order to leave the war Russia had to sign a treaty of  Brest­litovsk The brest­litovsk was a peace treaty headed by germany, to make Russia leave the great war, that is to say that by now russia is no longer involved in the war. 

 Finally in 1918 World War I officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of versailles on June 28, 1919. Negotiated among the Allied powers with little participation by Germany, reassigned German boundaries and assigned liability for reparations.  The treaty of versailles was made to end the war. the tree most importants politicians that attended to the treaty were David Lloyd George(Great Britain),Georges Clemenceau(France) and Woodrow Wilson (USA) The treaty included 14 points,made by Woodrow wilson
