Gentle ascents offering fine views Footwear: Sturdy and preferably waterproof footwear recommended History and Habitats 4 walking from Terrington 4.5 miles (7.5km) easy/moderate circular walk This walk explores the countryside to the south of Terrington, passing through the hamlet of Mowthorpe on the way to High Stittenham. If walked in the evening you have a chance of seeing barn owls hunting over the wide margins of arable fields. Cross the beck on the sleeper bridge then half-R across the next field to line up with the farm track ahead. START: Terrington Village Hall. Leave the village along Mowthorpe Lane. 2 On entering the farmyard at Birkdale Farm turn R through the wooden gate. At the dividing of the track go SA. 3 Keep Stittenham Wood to your RHS. 4 Opposite the village pond follow the signs thtough Hall Farm into Stittenham Wood. Follow the path through the trees 9 Cross the stile near Mowthorpe Hill Farm, keep the farm to your RHS, walk up the driveway. 8 Turn L then ascend on this path into the trees. Through the gate at the top of the hill keeping the hedge to your LHS. 7 Join the track.
