Tourism and EgyptTourists traveling to Egypt for the first time find

themselves with no shortage of options when it comes to attractions. Not only are Egypt’s many tourist attractions beautiful, but they represent one of mankind’s first modern civilizations. Egypt is perhaps best known for its pyramids, the Great Pyramid of Giza chief among them. Giza, located close to Cairo and directly across the street from some of the region’s most popular hotels, is actually composed of three pyramids as well as the Sphinx, another must-see artifact of old Egypt.

ConclusionWhile the temples and stone structures demonstrate

the grandiosity of the culture of ancient Egypt, the labyrinthine catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa feature more than 300 tombs locked deep beneath the earth. Tourists with a love for history and culture find this stop particularly enjoyable, as the construction of the catacombs borrows heavily from both ancient Greece and Rome in terms of architecture. Finally, to see the many pieces of ancient civilization that cannot be left to the elements, tourists must visit the Cairo Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. The museum features a collection with more than 10,000 pieces, ranging from works of art to royal funeral masks.
