The Outhouse Structure 1. 1. Racers must assemble outhouses. Creativity is encouraged!

Please make it family friendly. 2. 2. Outhouses must feature 4 walls, a roof, a doorway and a seat with

at least one hole. It may also have a functional door, but the door MUST be secured OPEN during the race. Total height shall not exceed 8 feet.

3. 3. No glass will be permitted. 4. 4.Outhouses must be man-powered, no motorized outhouses will be

permitted to participate. No pedals, chains, engines or mechanical assistance will be allowed.

5. 5. No outhouse shall be designed or constructed with the intent to disable or cause malfunction to another outhouse or race contestant.

6. 6. This is a civilized race, not a demolition derby. Act accordingly.

Teams1. A team shall consist of three people, no more, no less. One

must ride inside the outhouse. No team member can be replaced once the race begins.

2. Helmets are recommended for all team members. With or without helmets, teams and team members assume all risk.

3. No riders under fifteen years of age. 4. Clothing and shoes should be chosen for safety. It can be

creative, epic and outrageous, but NOT provocative.

RACE1. The course will begin at the intersection of Crockett Street & Pearl

Street (by The Fillin’ Station), go down Crockett Street, round the corner of Crockett & Bridge Street) returning to the same intersection .During the race, the rider must be seated over the hole.

2. At the halfway mark (the corner of Bridge Street & Houston Street) the rider must switch positions with another team member.

3. Outhouses MUST be in an upright position with the rider and at least one other team member pushing/braking as it crosses the toilet paper finish line.

SCHEDULE

1. Outhouses and teams must be checked-in at the main stage by 2:00 pm on Saturday March 17th.

2. Race begins at 3:00 pm. The Epic Outhouse Trophy will awarded to the winner at the finish line.

HELPFUL HINTS & A FEW SUGGESTED MATERIALS Wheelchairs do not turn well. Cardboard , foam board, duct tape, shopping carts, wagons, running shoes,

knee pads, Quilted Northern, plunger, don’t forget to show team spirit!!! POTTY ON!

PRIZES

1. Traveling trophy shall be awarded to the First Place winner. The trophy shall be returned by the prior year’s winner at the beginning of the current year’s race. The winner’s name will be etched on the plaque and placed on the trophy.
