Historic Event Comic Strip AssignmentUS HISTORY
Bellringer:
Brainstorm the major events leading up to WWII, either on the US, Asian, or European sides.
What to do?
Choose an event we have studied
Using your creativity, make a comic strip or political cartoon explaining the event.
It can focus on REAL or FICTIONAL characters
You are graded on creativity and understand, not necessarily your artistic ability
Effort is part of the criteria
How to do it
1) Either use a pre-made template that I can provide that will accommodate your comic, or
2) Use a blank sheet of paper and a straight-edge to make your own box(es).
3) Illustrate and color (or shade) your comic. Demonstrate understanding of the concept you choose.
Possible TopicsYou may use a topic from our studies of World War II until now.
These include:
• The rise of Nazi Germany
• American Isolationism
• Britain struggles against Germany
• Pearl Harbor
• FDR’s foreign policy dilemma
• Japanese Expansion
If you have another idea, speak to me. I encourage you to think beyond this list.
