We are happy to state that Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna Garu, Hon’ble MLA, Hindupur,
inaugurated various dvelopmental works viz. Laying foundation stone for development of NTR Park in
Housing Board colony with an estimated cost of RS. 50 Lakhs under AMRUT scheme, bhoomi pooja for
laying CC roads, Drains in 6th, 3rd, 4th, 35th, 36th, 37th, 38th wards and Inauguration of High Mast Lighting
system at Bandi Motu circle, NTR circle, Balaji circle, NTR marg to SriKantapuram in the town.
Under AMRUT scheme based on consultations held during the workshop on 24th May,
2016 a draft proposed SAAP Projects for FY 2016-17 and 2016-20 are decided with total cost of
RS.131.50 Cr, sharing Water Supply RS.107.00 Cr, Sewage/Septage Management RS.22.50 Cr, Parks
RS.2.00 Cr. Also we celebrated 1st Anniversary of Launch of AMRUT & Smart Cities on 25.06.2016, as a
part of it we arranged live screen for group viewing officials and elected representatives of the city of the
program of Honourable Prime Minister and our AMRUT City Mission Management Unit(CMMU) given
presentation on AMRUT and its progress in the town.
Keeping in view of monsoons to avoid overflow of drains and to provide hygienic
environment to the citizens Hinudupur Municipality has taken up de silting of drain works with an
estimated cost of Rs. 10.00 lakhs under general funds in Mukkidipet, VD Road, Amruth Mahal,
Dharmapuram and other parts of the town.
Two emergency council meetings were held during this month to discuss about
developmental works to be taken up under General Funds, SC-SP (with an estimated cost of Rs. 690.97
lakhs) and Draught Relief funds, to approve tenders for construction CC Roads, maintenance of bore
wells & vehicles, purchase of plants and other maintenance works with an estimated cost of
Rs.98.86Lakhs taken under General Funds.

cost of Rs. 50 lakhs
Up to the month of June out 0f 4230 Households verified there are 1330 eligible
households started construction of IHTs. 493 HH are supported by Slum Level Federation
(SLF)s and total 1058 HH have got complete payment for IHL construction up to this
month.

Hindupur Municipality got sanctioned projects in water supply, septage management and
green cover for the remaining period i.e. 2016-20 under AMRUT of Rs 131.50 Cr. The
details of the funds sanctioned for the developmental works in Hindupur town are

Disbursements of Pensions to the old age, widow, physically handicapped, weavers and
eligible beneficiaries under Abhaya Hastham are issuing through bio-metric system to
reduce malpractices during the 1st week of every month. During the month of June 2016,
total 7496 pensions were disbursed.

Ban on Plastic
In an initiative to save environment, Hindupur Municipality has banned sale and usage of
plastic carry bags in the town while slapping a penalty erring hotels, shop keepers etc.,.

Green Cover – Tree Plantation
As a part of Green Cover increase in the state, AP Urban Greening and Beautification
Corporation have fixed target of planting 31,000 trees in road sides, open spaces, schools and
distributing to households in the Hindupur town. In addition to this Hon’ble Chairperson Smt.
Ravilla Laxmi garu and Commissioner Sri A.V.V Bhadra Rao garu have set total target of
planting 1,00,000 plants in the town for the year 2016-17 and also protecting them by
providing tree guards, providing water supply through tankers. Tender for purchasing of
plants is approved for Rs. 3.98 lakhs.
In continuation to the previous months efforts for digging RWH pits, Municipality is
extending its support to dig rainwater harvesting pits in the public places, where all groups
of citizens gather in the town to motivate and inspire citizens and owners of the buildings
to dig rain water harvesting pits. There are 43 harvesting pits have been dug till end of June
2016.

In continuation of replacing conventional lights with LED
lights, new central LED lighting completed in Lepkashi road,
Bandi Motu circle, Balaji Circle, NTR circle was inaugurated by
Sri Nandamoori Bala Krishna garu, Ho’nble MLA, Hindupur on
27-06-2016.

Two emergency Council Meetings were conducted on 10-06-2016 & 30-06-2016, Tenders
approved for 19 No. of Developmental Works with estimated cost of Rs.98.86Lakhs under
General Funds and Drought Funds 2015-16. Also passed resolutions for works to be taken
up under SCSP 2015-16 with an estimated cost of RS.670.79 Lakhs for construction of CC
roads, CC drains, Street lights, Community resource centre, play grounds, water supply,
RS.10 lakhs for de silting of drain works, RS1.00 Lakh for laying new pipe lines in 30, 34,
10th wards, RS.6.00 Lakhs for development of traffic Island in Mahatma Gandhi Circle, Main
Bazar under general funds in the town.

Sri Kanna Babu Garu-Director of Municipal Administration and Smt. Vijaya Laxmi
garu- Regional Director of Municipal Administration visited Hindupur Municipality and
conducted a review meeting with all departments and instructed to take up initiatives to
improve the quality of life especially CM drive programs are sterilisation of dogs, desil;ting
of drains, roads and Rain water harvesting.
Monthly Review Meeting with Accounts Section was conducted by Municipal Chairperson
and directed to maintain accounts up to date.

De silting of Drains
As a part of CM’s drive, Director of Municipal Administration, AP instructed all
municipalities to de silt all the drains in keeping view of monsoons to avoid overflow of
drains and to provide hygienic environment to the citizens. Up to June 2016, Hinudupur
Municipality has taken up de silting of drain works with an estimated cost of Rs. 10.00
lakhs under general funds in Mukkidipet, VD Road, Amruth Mahal, Dharmapuram and
other parts of the town.
Town Planning
Online building approval systems which has been started from 31st March 2016, upto June
2016, we have received 36 building applications, 5 applications were rejected immediately
by the online approval system and 18 applications got approved in June 2016 and 10
applications are under process. Revenue for the online building approvals is gradually
increasing in the Hindupur town.

Municipal Municipality Shri. Jaheeruddin
garu was expired on 6th June 2016. House of
Mourning was conducted in the premises of
Municipal office on 17th June 2016 to this
great leader.
Second World Yoga Day was celebrated on
21st June. Smt. Ravailla Lakshmi garu,
Municipal Chairperson was participated in
the event conducted by Vivekananda Yoga
Therapy Institute, Hindupur.
Nava Nirmana Deeksha is a week-long
programme is being organised in Andhra
Pradesh in its present form came into
existence on June 2, 2014 following the
bifurcation of erstwhile AP. The pledge-
taking ritual will be observed every year
from this year onwards. Hindupur citizens
and municipal authorities were
participated in the Nava Nirmana Deeksha
oath taking event conducted on 2nd June
2016 was organised by the Hindupur
Municipality and also Mahasankalpam was
on 8th June 2016.

garu, Revenue officer was celebrated on 30th
June 2016 in RMS function hall. Shri. Nandamuri
Bala Krishna garu, Hon’ble MLA, Hindupur
appreciated Municipal Commissioner during his
visit to Hindupur on 29th June 2016.
