PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends,

Jai Shree Ram!

I would like to begin with thanking YOU ALL for joining in the Summer Activities held during the month of June…we had a

fun filled Picnic in Busse Woods on June 9, and an entertaining Fathers’ Day program in the temple on June 22. I want to

express my sincere gratitude to all the Members of my TEAM – both the Boards – for doing an excellent job in making

appropriate arrangements for these programs.

Every year, HOM celebrates “Father’s Day” in a very special way, by dedicating an Evening of Family Fun Entertainment

to all the DADS. A cultural Program, comprising of Songs, Dances, Jokes, Shair-o-Shairy etc is organized to honor and

acknowledge the endless contributions of Fathers in our lives. This year too, on June 22nd, we had this special program,

based on the theme “SHAHI DARBAR”. All the men & women were requested to dress up in Shahi Libas…like the Kings &

Queens of olden times. I am so proud to say, several people followed the Dress Code and came in dressed accordingly.

The Men in Sherwanis & Women in elegant Anarkali Suits, Lehngas, Saris etc looked stunning!!! To top it all, HOM

Management provided Golden & Pearl necklaces to all the men, to complete the Maharaja look of all the wonderful

Devotees of the Hari Om Mandir Kingdom! The Program concluded with the star item of the evening, as per the “Shahi

Mehfil” theme – “QUAWAALI”, followed by a lavish Dinner. My thanks to all the Participants…Ananya Ghosh, Pratibha

Jairath, Om Dhingra, Brij Sharma, Uma & Raj Nauth, Ram Verma, Subhash Singhal etc etc for making the program a

grand success.

On June 16th, Father’s Day was also celebrated in the general Sunday Congregation. Rama Kapoor, Rekha & Kailash

Mehta recited the Amritvani and sang bhajans. Swami Sharnanand, in his Pravachan, emphasized the importance of

Fathers in our lives. Custom-Made Sun Glasses with the HOM Logo and “Super Cool Dad” tag line, were distributed to all

the Dads, as a token gift of appreciation, by the Mandir Management.

The much awaited Annual PICNIC of HOM, turned out to be a Grand Success this year! Thanks to Mother Nature, we had

a nice beautiful, sunny day…close to 400 people gathered at Grove # 24, in Busse Woods and enjoyed the summer

activities. A steady flow of Food & Snacks items kept the appetite going, Games & Sports Events for the Kids, Youth,

Ladies & Gents kept everybody on their toes. Fruits of the season – Mangoes & Watermelons, have always been a great

attraction, and the young & old, all relished the same! Another attractive stall was set up by Mr. Patel for Pop Corn and

the “Barf ka Gola” – which reminded of the rustic cold treats of Summer back home in India. The day ended with gifts for

all the Participants and prizes to the Winners.

After celebrating Mothers & Father’s Day, now is the turn for our Youth to showcase their talent...I would like to appeal

to ALL of you to join us in encouraging our Youth on July 20th, as we celebrate Youth Night. Please encourage your

children, grandchildren to come forward and participate…this is an opportunity to develop their skills,

talents…singing/dancing/acting/hosting/playing an instrument/public speaking. Please DO COME and join us to

strengthen our Future and show them your support.

As always, please share your views, suggestions and feedback for the progress and growth of the Temple. I along with

my Team of dedicated members, would like to serve the Community in the best possible way.
