PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends,

Jai Shree Ram!

At the very outset, I would like to wish you ALL a very Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year. As we enter

2019, Hari Om Mandir Parivar will be welcoming the New Year with Sunderkand Path. I encourage you all to

join us on the very first day of the Year, Tuesday morning, the 1st of Jan at 9.30am, and seek Blessings from

Hanuman Ji for a blissful year ahead.

During the past years, HOM has been organizing the Akhand Ramayan Path, starting on the 31st of Dec, and

concluding on the 1st of Jan. However, over the past few years, it has been observed that not too many people

can come to the Temple at Midnight and ring in the New Year. Our Senior Community is restricted due to night

driving issues, and our Young Community seems to enjoy more at the Parties and Concerts…nothing wrong

with that either !!! So, keeping in mind the convenience of ONE & ALL, the Mandir Management decided to

organize the New Year Program during the day, on the 1st of Jan, and seek Blessings from God Almighty.

We shall ALL get together and sing along the Holy Sunderkand Path on this special occasion. It also happens

to be a Tuesday, and what better way to sing the glory of Hanuman Ji and seek HIS Blessings for a healthy &

Prosperous New Year!!! Snacks & Tea will be served from 9.30 to 10.30 am before the Start of the Program

and conclude with a lavish Lunch at 1pm. I cordially invite YOU ALL to join us and welcome the New Year

2019 with a bang!!!

Year 2018 will always be remembered in the history of HOM, as we raised about $$ 300,000 at our Annual

Fund Raiser Dinner held in September. This figure is the highest ever, and with the generous Donations from

all the devotees, we have launched two major Projects. People are excited to see the growth of the Temple,

especially the Elevator Project, and are now looking forward to the completion of this milestone project. The

work is already in progress, and hopefully, with the Grace of God, we shall accomplish our goals in 2019!

The other Project on hand, is the Murti of Baba Balak Nath, which has already been installed in the Shiv

Darbar Area. The formal “Pran Pratishtha” and unveiling of the Murti, has been scheduled on the auspicious

day of Basant Panchami – Feb10, 2019. I invite you all to come in large numbers and be a part of this Grand

Celebration.

As I look back into the year gone by, I feel a sense of pride on the achievements we had, the programs we

launched, the progress we made during 2018. I also feel greatly indebted and humbled by the immense

support and co-operation I received from all the Devotees of HOM, who helped me and my TEAM to serve the

Temple and the Community at large. Together we celebrated grand functions like the Independence Day,

Special Navratre Jagran, besides the regular events like Holi, Diwali, Youth Night, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day,

Picnic etc.

Last but not the least, I would like to express my gratitude to each and every Member of the EB and the BOT,

without whom I could not have taken a step forward…Thanks for all the hard work, Co-operation and Trust.

Please keep your spirits high & TOGETER, we shall make our HOM grow and attain new heights in 2019.

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

On behalf of Board of Trustee, I wish happy and prosperous New year to all the devotees of Hari Om

Mandir. I also wish new year, fill their hearts with new hopes, peace, and bring brighter future. Many devotees

start the New Year on an auspicious note wishing blessing of Lord Krishna and Vaishno Devi Mata to bestow

happiness, peace and prosperity.

This is a time for us to reflect on our many blessings of the past year to give thanks. I like to say how

much proud we are of successful 2018 year. We had a record setting fundraising in the Mandir’s history, and

applying for permit New Addition construction, and installation of new Baba Balk Nath Murti. All the religious

events at Hari Om Mandir were attended by the large number of devotees. Credit of all the success goes to

leadership of Vipan Wadhera, President and guidance of Ayodhia Salwan, Guardian.

We also had sad news as well of sudden death of Mrs. Nirmal Bagga and Indu Wadhwa. Both were

noble souls and well- wisher of the Hindu Society. Both left a great legacy and will be remembered for long

time.

I like to thank all the outgoing EB board members for their contribution to the Hindu Society of

Metropolitan Chicago. I also would like to welcome the new members on the EB board. All the members on

the board have not only devotion and commitment to the temple but they are the individuals who face

challenges on regular basis and find solutions.

Devotees and volunteers are great resources of success and act as an integral part of operation. Much of the

credit of success of Hari Om Mandir goes to the dedicated volunteers. I thank all of you for every- thing you do

through volunteerism and philanthropy. Please renew your membership or consider upgrading to life member.

Please accept our whole-hearted appreciation for your incredible support and I look forward to continued

development of our beloved temple in the years to come.
