Practical experience has been gained in solar cooking and various experiments. The selected solar ambassadors, coming from El Salvador, Korea, Luxemburg, Mexico, Nepal, Tajikistan and Thailand, have shared their own and gained new experiences. Special discussions have challenged us about Play-station vs. Printer. All returned home with a plan what, how and when they will implement Scouts go Solar in their National Scout Organization or Scout Centre.
Once again, I have said good-bye to eight new solar ambassadors, expanded my
global village, full of good memories and looking forward to see what these
motivated people are going to implement as the previous solar ambassadors did. Report By: Stefanie Luginbuhl Alassane (Lead Trainer, Solafrica).
SGS AT 1ST BUDDHIST SCOUT JAMBOREE IN TAIWAN

SGS TRAINING IN DENMARK-SOLAR SCOUT DK 2016
A typical Danish summer is mostly sunny and sometimes cloudy or rainy. With this weather condition Scouts go Solar training and workshop were held in the month of July in Denmark. This is the first response from Denmark Scouts after the participation of Rikke Madsen Lauridsen in Solar Ambassadors’ Training at KISC last year. Following three Scout Centres were involved in this SgS program:
1. Flamsted Centeret 2. Spejdercenter (SCENES) 3. Houens Odde Scout Centre (SCENES)
Participants of this program get involved in theoretical and practical aspects of Solar and other renewable energies. They were provided the opportunity to learn about Solar Heating Systems and small Wind Power Systems. They used different solar gadgets and also discussed the sun and safety. Solar workshops were also organized for the youth. Participants of this program had view that they should use all kinds (direct and indirect) of Solar energy in Scandinavia.

DONATE FOR SOLAR……!
Scouts go Solar is a global project of WOSM with the collaboration of Greenpeace and Solafrica. The main focus of this program is to create awareness of Solar Energy amongst the youth. Since this program is growing fast therefore much financial resources are required. Upto now, Greenpeace Switzerland, Solafrica and Greenpeace SE Asia are providing financial assistance. Now monetary support is very much needed by all those who like Solar and want to promote this source of energy through scouting. Accordingly all NSOs are requested to look into it and donate generously for the promotion of SgS Activities. Contact: [email protected]
