Isle of Skye. Classically briney Talisker whisky, Port Ruighe is also double matured in Port Casks creating a unique flavour profile consisting of sweet port notes with sea spray and caramel. Sea water, orange and white chocolate on the nose, while tasting of the characteristic Talisker brine but sweeter than usual followed by Chilli and chocolate orange which becomes increasingly smoky. Benromach 10 y/o 43% *£3.10

An easy drinking, Oloroso sherry cask finished Speyside whisky. A Rich Sherry nose with fruit & nut, chocolate and spice and a light peat smoke. On the palate it has forest fruits, sherry, malt creaminess and peat.

Benromach Peat Smoke 2005 46% * £3.25

Distilled from malted barley with a phenol level of 67ppm, this Benromach is seriously smoky while retaining the elegance and fruitiness of Benromach. The nose is sweet vanilla with honey and cured meat. While on the palate we get cracked pepper with sweet strawberry and orange flavours plus a delicate hint of aniseed with lingering bonfire embers.

Balvenie 12 year old (Double Wood) 40% *£4.25

This slightly spicy, single malt has been aged in refill American Oak Casks and then finished off in first fill European Sherry Oak Casks! Double the cask, double the flavour!

Balvenie 14 year old (Caribbean Cask) 43% *£5.50

This whisky has been matured for 14 years in traditional oak casks before being transferred to Caribbean rum casks to impart some extra flavour. This process has created a well-rounded and drinkable whisky with notes of fruit and vanilla.

Balvenie 15 year old (Sherry Wood) 50.4% £9.00

A single malt Scotch whisky, fully matured in Sherry casks. No two casks are the same of this individual tipple, and therefore won't produce an identical single malt, however they do all feature a consistent, rich, spiced character, complimented by hints of elegant oak.

Balvenie 17 year old (Double Wood) 50.4% £9.50

Like the famous 12 year old expression this Balvenie has been matured in two types of cask, the key difference this has been given an extra five years of cask ageing. This extra time gives the malt a warmer taste on the palate.

Balvenie 21 year old (Limited Edition – Port Wood) 40% £15.00

To create The Balvenie Port Wood 21 Year Old, a marriage of rare Balvenie is transferred to port casks, or pipes, which have held fine port wines. Refined with remarkable character, it is creamy and silky with fruit, honey and spice notes.

Glenfarclas 25 year old 43% £15.00 A sherried 25 year old whisky from Glenfarclas. The nose is complex sherry notes and a touch of menthol. An incredibly clean palate with zingy notes and hints of gingerbread and nutty chocolate, finished with hints of smoke and cocoa. Glenfarclas 30 year old 43% £13.95

A heavily sherried 30 year old whisky from Glenfarcla, this was a winner at the International Spirits Challenge. A smoother whisky we challenge you to find on this list. The nose is rich & dark. Smoky sherry with citrus. While the palate is thick with a wonderful mouthfeel. Tasting of creamy sherry with a buttery, spicy, malt loaf.

Glenkinchie 12 Year Old 43% *£3.95 Expect a refreshingly smooth tipple of crisp florals and honey, with earthy cereals on the palate. A touch of fruit is also there, lingering in the aftertaste. Glenrothes Select Reserve 43% *£3.60 Pale gold in colour with an obvious American oak vanilla, coconut & hint of plums shinning through. The taste is full with sweet vanilla & orange zest at the end. Finishing is medium in length & medium dry Macallan Gold 40% *£5.50 Sweet and soft on the palate a refreshing citrusy fragrance of lemon zest and orange grows into richer hints of chocolate and roasted apple. Rare Cask is an exquisite whiskey with a luxuriously rich and resonant hue. This tea coloured tipple brings tastes of caramel, butterscotch, candied citrus and spice to the palate; and a mixture of cocoa powder, honey and dark fruits to the nose. A truly memorising malt. Macallan Sienna 43% £7.75 A Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The second darkest whisky in Macallan’s 1824 Series, comprising of naturally coloured whiskies selected by hue and flavour. This has been matured in sherry casks and balances rich dried-fruit sweetness with some lighter, spicier notes.

Mortlach 21 y/o 43% £5.95 Hailing from Dufftown Mortlach was one of very few distillers to remain in production during world war two. Sherry cask aged, this is complex, an after dinner dram. The nose is sweet & fruity with hints of sultanas, vanilla

Tormore 20 Year Old 1995 – A Rare Find 56.4% £7.00 With only 98 bottles released, this 20 year old Sherried Speyside truly is a Rare Find. An oak-full nose alongside a juicey berry and spicey fruit palate shows off a playful side to Tormores personality. Overall: we want torMORE. Allt A Bhainne 25 Year Old 1990 – A Rare Find 53.4% £8.50 This well-matured Allt a Bhainne is yet another stunning whiskey from Gleann Mor’s ‘A Rare Find’ series. This speyside was distilled in 1990 and left to mature until June 2015, and the result is a wonderfully cake-y, hazelnut flavour, married with fruits and handfuls of vanilla. Yummy! The Glenlivet 12 Year Old 40% *£3.00 This speyside dram is driven by honey and orchard fruit. Fresh apple cores, fruity trifle, pineapple, cinnamon and almonds are among the many flavours of this delicious drink. As one of the best selling malts in the world, it is obvious that we highly recommend The Glenlivet! One to wet your whistle with. The Glenlivet Founders Reserve *£3.00 Named in honour of the founder of Glenlivet Distillery, George Smith, this classic Glenlivet whisky has a creamy and fruity character bolstered by the use of first-fill American oak to mature some of the whisky.

Auchentoshan 12 Year Old 40% *£4.40 A golden honey colour, triple distilled then matured for over 12 years producing tempting aromas of toasted almonds and caramelised toffee. Smooth and sweet with hints of tangerine and lime. Auchentoshan 3 Wood 40% * £4.40 Chock full of ripe fruit, sugars, spice & nuts. Gold in colour with a medium rounded body. A fruity nose with tastes of fruit & syrup. Hazelnut & hints of cinnamon & lemon. A butterscotch sweetness adds to the overall complexity. The finish is fresh & fruity with a long lasting oaky sweetness. The Epicurian 46.2% *£4.00 In a tipple of our small batch Epicurian, you can bet on a nose that is barley rich, citric, floral and herbal. The mouth- coatingly sweet palate displays crunched sugar, burnt citrus, mixed spices amoungst others underpinned with more herbal character.

It’s deeply complex, with notes of wood, marmalade and dark chocolate and a long aftertaste of spiced oak. Compass Box. Peat Monster 46% *£3.75 For those who love big, rich, peaty and smoky malt whiskies, this is your whisky. Bottled at 46%, "The Peat Monster" combines extremely smoky malt whisky from Islay with medium-peated Highland whiskies to create a balanced and approachable monster, but a monster nonetheless. Enjoy! Compass Box. The Spice Tree 46% *£3.75 A natural, deep, gold-brown colour and a rich nose with spices such as clove and nutmeg, and sweet stewed fruits. Palate is soft, sweet, deep and rich with a malt whisky fruitiness embellished by rich spice. Very long. Johnnie Walker Black Label 43% *£3.60 Hard to find a smoother Scotch. Robust and complex it gives hints of peatiness amongst orange, honey and sherry flavours and a hint of smoke on the aftertaste. A bottle of good old JB Black Label was also used a weapon in Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Pigs Nose 40% *£3.25 An easy drinking whisky from the folks behind Sheep Dip, allegedly named for being 'as soft as a pig's nose'. It's a blend with a high malt content and a youthful, fruity edge. Rock Oyster 46.8% *£4.50 A marvellous maritime made with single malts from the islands of Jura, Arran, Orkney and Islay.It’s coastal ‘peatyness’ will remind you of wind-swept beaches and the sea breeze, all topped off with a peppery, warm finish. Sheep Dip 40% *£3.95 Sheep Dip is what used to be referred to as a vatted malt: a blend of malt whiskies with no grain element. Crafted by Richard Paterson of Whyte & Mackay for the Spencerfield Spirits Company, the malts used are aged between 8 and 12 years old and are from good quality first-fill casks. In this creation, Laing uses distilleries such as Dalmore and Glengoyne to create a ‘anything-but-timorous’ blend, which will remind you of pebble beaches and coastal air. This beastie is bold, brave and an absolute blast. The One 40% £3.90 The One is a Cumbrian blend which is equally as beautiful as its home in the Lakes. Its intriguing complexity comes from a carefully blended mix of Isles Whiskies, each of which bring its own distinctive characteristic to the final flavour. Bushmills Triple Distilled 40% *£2.30

The classic Irish blend, Bushmills Original is made up of grain whiskey matured for five years before blending with malt whiskeys. Triple distilled and very supple.

Bushmills Black Bush 40% *£3.00 This irish whiskey combines a high amount of malt whiskey matured in former Oloroso Sherry casks, with a sweet, batch-distilled grain whiskey. This unique recipe means Black Bush has rich, fruity notes and a deep intense character, balanced by an incredibly unique smoothness.

Connemara Peated 40% *£3.50

Ireland. Cooley distillery. A distinct and rare peated Irish whiskey. Sweet like an Irish with peat smoke. The nose is well smoked and peated with heather and honey. Meanwhile the palate remains full and smooth with notes of malt and peat with honeyed smoke.

Green Spot 40% *£4.50 An impressive revamp in the packaging for historic single pot still Irish whiskey Green Spot, which is no longer only available in Dublin grocer Mitchell's and will surely benefit from the increased marketing muscle lavished on it by owners Irish distillers. A cult whiskey.

Hyde 10 Year Old Rum Finish 46% £TBC

Hyde they use two different casks to age their Rum cask single malt. Stage 1: For the First 10 years Hyde single malt is aged in flame-charred, first-fill, oak bourbon casks, from the USA. Stage 2: For an additional 8 months they transfer Hyde into 200 litre charred dark Caribbean rum casks. The aroma is rich with notes of tropical fruits, passion fruit, vanilla and butter toffee. A rich and Spicy with a buttery vanilla finish.

Hyde 10 Year Old Sherry Finish 46% £TBC

Distilled in a copper pot still, Hyde whiskey is double matured in flame charred, first fill, oak bourbon casks, and finished in vintage sherry casks. Handcrafted in very small limited edition batches, then cut with fresh West Cork spring water, and non-chill filtered for a more original character. A 100% malted Irish barley whiskey from a single distillery - Hyde is a true taste of the Irish free spirit.

Jameson 40% *£3.30 Smooth drinking, light bodied Irish Whiskey with a touch of cereal and honey sweetness on both the nose and the palate. It has a touch of burnt wood and caramel on the back of the tongue, as well as a slight touch of clove.

Jameson Cask Mates 40% *£3.50

Finished in stout-seasoned whiskey casks. While the triple-distilled smoothness is very much intact, notes of cocoa, coffee and butterscotch confirm the stout influence.

On the nose you find citrus, pine, paprika and pepper. The flavour is lightly medicinal with zingy and malty characteristics. Medium-body with good balance. There are notes of cut flowers and fresh fruits, spice and a little oak. An incredible Japanese whisky, so much power! We can't recommend this enough.

The product of two distilleries (Yoichi and Miyagikyo), The Nikka 12 is a well-balanced blend. There's green-apple freshness, rich fruitcake spiciness, butterscotch and some green-peppercorn punch Nikka All Malt, Japan 40% *£3.50 A fascinating whisky made with Yoichi, Miyagikyo and some 'grain' whisky that isn't really grain – it's malt whisky made in a Coffey still at Miyagikyo! This is really a vetted malt, or 'blended malt whisky', as we're supposed to call it these days. Nikka Coffey Grain Whiskey, Japan 45% £6.50 A release of grain whisky from Japan's Nikka, produced mainly from corn using one of their continuous Coffey stills. Rather than the rare and limited releases they have done before, this is a larger release to further show off this key component in the Nikka family of whiskies. Togouchi Premium, Japan 40% *£5.25 Although blended in Japan, Togouchui Premium Whisky is a blend of Scottish malt and Canadian grain. Aged in the town of Togouchi in a tunnel that was originally built for a railway but never used - intriguing!

Togouchi 12 year old, Japan 40% £9.00 A 12 year old Japanese blended whisky, produced by Chugoku Jozo for the Togouchi range, who age their whiskies in a tunnel (makes a nice change from a warehouse, doesn't it?). Rather peaty, with spicy notes of oak running through it. Yamazaki 12 year old, Japan 43% £10.00 This soft and smooth Japanese single malt has a good body with plenty of nut oils and zest, and a pleasant floral character with a little tropical fruit and a rooty note.

Amrut Fusion gets its name from the fact that it uses two barleys: Indian and Scottish - with the latter being peated for good measure. Fusion has been picking up awards ever since it first appeared in 2009, and in 2012 was named the best whisky for a Rob Roy in the Ultimate Cocktail Challenge in New York. Armorik, France 46% *£3.90 This rich and elegant tipple was produced at the Warenghem distillery in Lannion in the north of Brittany, and is made up of a combination of various bourbon and sherry cask whiskies of various ages. This wide variety results in a rich, malty, whiskey which reminds us of fresh, coastal-air. Kavalan, Taiwan 43% *£5.80 A champion to Japan’s domination of the Asian whiskey market this has blasted through the ranks in blind taste testing to be named ‘Best New World Whisky of the Year’ in last years whiskey bible. Fragrant, with touches of tropical fruits and pear this is a must try for Whisky lovers. Milford 15 Year Old, New Zealand 43% *£5.50 New Zealand. From the Willowbank Distillery. Punchy & malty on the nose with dry oak, orchard fruits and citrus. Tasting fruity & dry with allspice and ginger, somewhat Christmassy.

With the amount of gold medals this small batch whiskey has earned, you deserve to give it a try. Notes of orange peel, roasted nuts and tobacco lead to a sweet finish that is complemented by a hint of intense oak. Eagle Rare 10 Years Old 45% £5.00 Oak, spices, cocoa, and a bit of vanilla hit the palate with a bit of an oaky finish with spices and a hint of cocoa at the finale ends the sip. Eagle Rare 17 Years Old 45.5% £10.00 The awards speak for themselves, with Best Whisky, Best Bourbon and a host of other successes at the World Whiskey Awards since its release. This smooth but complex drink is the luxury choice, bringing forward flavoured of candied sweets, leather, tobacco and cinnamon. George T. Stagg 69.05% £11.50 This extremely hearty whiskey ages in new charred oak barrels for no less than 15 years. Straight out of the barrel, uncut and unfiltered, the taste is powerful, flavourful and intense. Very concentrated flavours of dark dried fruits and bittersweet chocolate, a drop of water really brings out the flavours. Gentleman Jack 40% £3.55 Just like Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, Gentleman Jack is Charcoal Mellowed before going into the barrel.
