CATAWBA MA Cohort (Fall 2014)Adult and Developmental Education

• Fall 2014 – Summer 2016 (2 courses/per term, including summers)

• Each course is at least 30% online

• Course 1: Meets on Tuesday evenings (6-9pm in F/Sp; 5-9 in Sum)

• Course 2: Meets up to 5 Saturdays each term

Online courses will have no more than one F2F session.

Application Deadline: JULY 1, 2014

• Prepares individuals for middle-management positions in colleges and universities.

• Almost 50% online

• Course 1: Meets F2F every other Tuesday (at most)

• Course 2: Meets F2F every other Thursday (at most)

• Students will be driving to class only once a week (at most) during most weeks

ED.S. IN HIGHER EDUCATION

• Provides individuals who have earned a Master’s degree an opportunity to:

• Advance their careers in higher education

• Develop as leaders in the field

• Prepare for a doctoral program

CAREER IMPACT OF THE ED.S.

• lead instructors/faculty developers• program or center directors • department chairs • deans and assistant deans • community college vice- presidents

Others have pursued the doctorate and become community college and university presidents.

COSTS

•Distance Education Tuition & Fees (2013-2014)

In-state• $235 per semester hour • $705 per three-hour class

Tuition and fees are set annually, and annual increases can be expected.

•Each course will vary in requirements for textbooks, etc.

PAYMENT PLAN OPTION

•The TuitionPay Monthly Payment Plan is an interest-free alternative to paying your college expenses.
