HIGH-SPEED CARS OF DIFFERENT AUTO MARQUES

HIGH SPEED PRODUCTION CARS OF DIFFERENT AUTO MARQUES

The hunger for speed is a common craving for automobile enthusiasts. Wheels are meant to be spun and there are some passionate automobile craftsmen out there who desire to take the spinning phenomenon to its extreme. They want to test the tarmac against the power that is blown out of red-hot cylinders. Fabricating a fast car involves many engineering aspects which require optmisation to form a perfect composition. Engineers will always be in quest of new concepts and techniques that elevate the performance of drive train. This stands as a basic rule for manufacturing fast cars.

BUGATTI VEYRON SUPER SPORT Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is a

masterpiece among all automobiles. The sculpture of this wagon is an engineering marvel, where every small part of Veyron has been built to stand for the purpose of speed. There is a hefty 8.0L, 16 cylinder unit under the skin of Veyron which produces a massive power of 1200 hp. It has huge intercooler within the body which sucks enormous amount of heat that is developed in the engine every second. Every corner of the body is shaped in a way where the Veyron can simply cut through air. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has a top speed of 415 km/hr. It takes just 2.5 seconds for this speedster to accelerate to 100 km/hr from stand-still.

MCLAREN F1 The three-seater sports car from

McLaren created a record for its top speed back in 1993. McLaren F1 is built to be light, aerodynamic and it has an unusual driving position where the driver sits is at the center with two passenger seats on either sides of him. The body is streamlined and McLaren F1 has a drag coefficient of 0.32 which is better than the same of Bugatti Veyron. It has a 6.1L V12 engine which churns out 618 bhp at 7400 rpm. The maximum speed that this car touches is 390 km/hr. The car takes less than 3.5 seconds to cross the 100 km/hr mark from 0.

FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA Ferrari F12 Berlinetta the successor

of 599 is a superfast model designed by Pininfarina which is the styling centre of Italian marque. It has a 6.0L V12 engine which has a maximum power output of 730 bhp. The car weighs 1,525 kg and has its body structured to be aerodynamic. Berlinetta F12 has an air inlet on its bonnet which passes through the flanks and extends over the car’s shoulder. This design ensures that the car adheres to ground at high speeds. The top speed of this Ferrari is 340 km/hr. The dragster takes 3 seconds to reach 100 km/hr mark from 0.

PORSCHE GT2 RS Porsche GT2 RS may not look as

dynamic and stylish as the Ferrari’s or McLaren’s. But with a 3.6L engine it has much to offer under its wheels. The power drawn out of this engine is 612 bhp and torque is 700 Nm. The top speed attained by this sports car is 330 km/hr and it takes just 3.4 seconds for it to touch 0 to 100 km/hr. Porsche GT2 RS beats McLaren F1 by 0.5 seconds in 0 to 160 km/hr range. The car weighs much lesser than its previous model, the GT2. This factor has given Porsche GT2 RS an excellent power to weight ratio.

LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR LP 700-4 The Italian marque introduced

Aventador to the world in Geneva Motor Show 2011. The car has an unmistakable sculpture which resembles a pointed beast ready to take on the road. It has a 6.5L 690 hp V12 engine coupled to 7-speed semi-automatic transmission system. It uses an all-wheel drive system which is handled by an electronic system. This system improves the driving control of this beast. The top speed of Aventador LP 700-4 model is 349 km/hr. The vehicle takes less than 3 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/hr from stand still position. Lamborghini is manufacturing Aventador as a limited edition model.
