Two high schoolers, Gabriella and Troy, meet at a New Year’s Eve party in a ski lodge and instantly click.

Forced to sing karaoke together at the party

Gabriella and Troy meet back up in Albuquerque, New Mexico when they realize they attend East High School together.

Accidently audition for their upcoming musical and compete with Ryan and Sharpay Evans for the spotlight

Hide their singing ability because of friends, parents, and other school activities.

Their friends and social cliques do not approve and try to separate them.

Causing them to be late for the final musical

They all come together in the end and Gabriella and Troy win the callbacks.
